Same scare tactic sh!t the media likes to latch onto and take out of proportion. Y2K, Swine Flu, Bird Flu, Ebola, and now an earthquake nobody knows when it's going to happen. Could be tomorrow, could be 10,000 years from now.

You know what's scarier? In 2013, 41,000 people died of suicide and another 16,000 from homicide in the US alone.

Not trying to be scary... but people should know... IT will happen at some point... and when it does... try to deal with it the best you can.

I'm from SoCal... been in PNW for 20+ years now... and went through some pretty scary earthquakes. Anything over 4.5 will be difficult to deal with (when it hits and you're standing there... or laying in bed...) and you're asking, WTF???!!!.

Just hope that WHEN the big one hits this area... you're not on (or below) an elevated roadway or in an old building -- even if it's been retrofitted to be "earthquake proof." It will be a gigantic roll of the dice depending on where you are... and what's around you. "Things" will most likely be falling.. so find shelter of some sort that will protect you. (Note: doorways are NOT shelter...)

You should have some sort of Emergency Kit in your home -- water, canned food (and opener), 1st-aid items, some spare clothing -- especially a sweater for the nighttime, etc.) Keep it someplace that you hope you can get to in the event your abode falls down. And if you can, try to keep a smaller version in your car. And lastly, talk to your loved ones... Have a plan in place for "What to do if we loose communication with each other during a bad emergency with infrastructure goes off-line." A primary and secondary "meet-up" location and some type of loose schedule on when you might try to connect via cell or Internet (email) IF infrastructure were to come up.

Anyway... sorry to sound all gloom and doom... but coming from SoCal... this topic hit a nerve... it's nothing to kid around about...

Be sure to get that extra large aux gas storage tank for your backyard and a manual pump... you'll need it with the Hummer b/c the gas stations won't be open...

I'm DUN with earthquake topic for the day... I just ordered that darn "Mustang" high-mount 3rd brake light for $49.00 (incl. shipping) from Americanmuscle.com.

I need a new project to take my mind off of earthquakes!

I hope it's alright for me to sneak in and settle, despite not having one of the twins.. Yet.

Gah! Fuck worrying about earthquakes. Might as well worry about being struck by lightning. I had 3 traffic near misses in the last 2 days. All while I was a passenger.

How many people stove in their heads falling down stairs or slipping in the shower?

It's all a gamble so treat every day as your last. Now go hug a loved one.

GET OUT!!!!!

Lawl, I joke. Everyone is welcome as long as we treat one another with respect. Granted some hazing occurs on occasion but we're not all that bad.

It may be discontinued. Hopefully they mess up and you get it for free, like me.

I remember seeing your post about that. Their website indicated they had inventory... so we'll see what happens!
