My car was at the port since May 7th. Last week my dealer told me I would get my car 5/31. However, today they told me although they are definitely getting one FR-S tomorrow, they are not sure that's mine (they're getting 3 total). Oh well...

Spoken with a few dealers in the bay area. It seems the best I can do is 8 or 10 people back in the waitlist.
Some dealers claim months, others claim weeks. Tried to make the safe bet and go with the biggest (SF Scion) but I'd really like this car before July hits! |

Got the call yesterday from Livermore Subaru that my WRB premium just arrived, very unexpected since I thought I was #3 or so on the list. Just finished the paper work today and will be picking up tmrw! For everybody waiting for theirs, my sales guy explains that the pre-ordering system was pretty out of wack, basically, even if you were first in line, it doesn't necessarily mean you will get your car first. It is all dependent on what Subaru made (color & trim) and sent out. In my case, although I was #3, I guess because I only had a premium and a WRB (most common color he said), it was very easy for me to get matched up with a car. So who ever had another premium from Livermore (I think he said silver), he mentioned its coming on the 8th (not sure, just overheard him talking to somebody while I was filling my paper work)

How was the buying process? Wayne has been incredibly courteous so far so I'm hoping the paperwork is smooth. |

It went pretty smooth with Wayne, although I was a little miffed when I had to fill the paperwork BEFORE taking a test drive. I also got pretty annoyed with the finance guy, since he insisted on going thru all the extra crap (extended warranty, etc.) after I explicitly told him I was not interested in any and I would like to just go straight to signing the finance paperwork. Overall, OK experience (I've had worse), just took a lot longer that it needed.

We picked up a blue FRS from Toyota Sunnyvale 2 days ago. First one off their dealer.
They have a silver 6MT that didn't have an owner when we bought ours. |
