Tread construction is asymmetrical, but carcass construction is symmetrical - you can flip it so the outside is now on the inside without losing much. The tread isn't directional so it doesn't really change wet handling much either. |

I think the rears have more adjustment than the fronts, or vise-versa. They're not the same.

The # of turns on Koni's is never exact. Where exactly the adjuster puts you for the in-between stuff can be different per shock. The good news is what they do at full stiff and full soft is should be pretty consistent, though

I definitely do not get three full turns out of either the front or the back. It's closer to 2

Weird. When did you buy them? Are your fronts inserts or full replacements?

My full replacement konis are also two turns, front and rear. Who knows when they were made, but they were bought in March.

I have exactly two turns front and rear. Purchased April or May. Full replacement set.

Correct. You shouldn't run Konis at full hard or full soft. It's just because if you hit that stop point even just a little too hard, it can make the adjuster stick in that position. If you are wanting to run full hard or soft, gently hit that point and then back it off just slightly (like 1/16 turn or less). As long as it's not sitting on the stop, you're good. Info directly from Lee Grimes at Koni.

Wow. Such variation from one car to another. Due to the suspension design of our cars, this is exactly what I had originally expected to see from cars using the TRD springs: more rear camber with little change up front. I still wonder what the manufacturing tolerances are.

Bring an extra pair of shoes for course walks; the surface gets tacky from all the tire rubber, and your shoes will literally stick to the ground and pick up every single rock and piece of crack filler. Seriously. And bring clothes for any kind of weather; expect it to be 50 degrees and rainy one day, then 90 degrees and sunny the next. Nationals is a blast!! |

I get about 2 1/4 turns from both the Koni shocks and complete strut assemblies. I've had two sets of Konis (one off-the-shelf set and one revalved set), and they both have the same number of rotations in damping adjustment.
