That would be awesome. I've never been to an actual track yet. AutoX has always been easier for me. It seems harder to get on a track if you have no club affiliation or a car fit for the track. Welcome to the Tri-State and hope to meet you soon!

It's very easy to get on track.

I am the Race Director for NASA Northeast and have been instructing with NASA, SCCA, PDA, PCA, BMWCCA and a few other clubs for 10+ years.

Glad to see others who are track oriented on here. We just came back from a weekend of racing and testing at NJMP Thunderbolt.

Our shop offers special discounts for folks who actually track their cars.

What he said. NASA is a great organization. I've done a few events with them and they're safe, friendly, and can be HUGELY educational if you go humbly and open minded.

Paisan... You guys require a fire bottle in the car to run a NASA event?

Only for wheel to wheel racing. For HPDE and Time Trials, just autox safety stuff.

Hi all! My name is Joe, I live in NY, like long walks on the beach...wait, wrong forum!

I have a GBS Limited 6MT on order from Fred Beans Subaru in Doylestown, PA (yea I travelled 2+ hours from NY just to go to a honest dealer) My ETA is 6/15 but I expect it'll be ready a few days earlier so I can break it in and then autox in on 6/16.

I work in the aftermarket in product development for a parts manufacturer/supplier so I'm fortunate enough to get to eat, sleep, and breath cars every day (my gf sometimes would argue that it's unfortunate :P ) It's a busy job but fun and rewarding, plus I get sweet deals on parts

I'm one of the autox obsessed ones on here! I'm a member of the NY Region SCCA but also race with the folks from NNJR at the Meadowlands. I've only been racing for a couple years but I'm hooked. I haven't had a chance to hit a big track day yet but I'm looking forward to it. Hopefully EmilGH can pull off something with Monticello or his "parking lot" LOL.

I helped start the Northeast G8 Owners club a few years back and we had some meets early on. I'm hoping we can get a Metro BRZ group together! We can organize meets, track days, autox days, or whatever we can cook up!

I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you and I can't wait to see another BRZ on the road and do that ubiquitous/weird/funny/classic head bob to greet your fellow car type, lol.

-Joe

Guess I'll make one of these too!

Hi everyone, my name is Anthony, and I live in Poughkeepsie, NY. Yes, that place that Snooki says she is the queen/princess (I don't keep track of that MTV bs) of, even though she is from Carmel, NY.

I have on order a SWP BRZ Limited from Mid-Hudson Subaru in Wappingers Falls, NY. They've been extremely helpful since day one back in February. I've actually known the owner since the previous year when I was in the market for a WRX but decided to back out. It's actually quite convenient for me, since it's about a half mile south of the mall, where I do a good amount of shopping. I don't have an ETA on my BRZ but I do have a VIN and a rough estimate of when I'll be seeing it according to the owner of the dealer. He said late May, early June is when they're expecting their first allocation, so we shall see. The car is listed in their inventory as in transit though, so maybe sooner!

This will be my first new car, so naturally I'm really excited to get it. I plan on trying to keep this very clean, despite the fact that it will be daily driven and not have the luxury of having a garage to park it in. I know it'll be challenging, especially during those NY winters (I'm ok with the last winter season though! We got maybe 2 storms.), but I'm looking forward to it!

I currently drive an '97 Acura Integra with 187,000 miles on it. Despite cosmetic problems and a few minor comfort problems, the car runs quite well for it's age and mileage. I've been an Acura/Honda fan all my life. Not like those kids who saw Fast and Furious and decided to rice out their cars since it was the cool thing to do. My father worked at the local Acura dealer for quite some time, so I would visit him while he was working every now and then and he would show me around the shop, showroom, etc. I remember them having a red NSX sitting in the middle of the showroom and I was able to sit in it! That car has and will always put a smile on my face. And while I don't talk to my father anymore over personal reasons, I did enjoy those days. I hope to one day be able to own an NSX or at least a Type R Integra. I have a thing for Integras. It just so happens that a close friend of mine happens to have an NSX and until a few months ago, a Type R Integra too! He sold it to make room for a Porsche 911 GT2.

I'm a computer nerd, so I do spend a lot of time in front of a computer, usually playing games when I'm home. I've build the last few computers I've used, so I shrug when people buy those overpriced gaming PCs. Especially those gaming laptops.... You don't want to know how much I spent on the computer I'm typing this on right now. Let's just say it uses two top of the line video cards, 3 monitors, and the newest Intel CPUs, booting from an SSD. I used to play World of Warcraft for 2 1/2 years as one of the top raiders for my class at the time, but the hours were killing me and I decided I can't do it anymore. Now a days I play a lot of Team Fortress 2, as well as a lot of other games such as Skyrim and Mass Effect. If anyone has a Steam ID, PM me and maybe we'll play something together! I used to be a big console gamer, back in the early days of Xbox Live. Games like Rainbow Six Three comes to mind, but I just can't stand playing console games anymore.

Um, I guess that's a small description of myself. I can't wait to meet you guys at a meet some where! It'll be nice to finally go to a meet and have conversations with people who have the same car!

Hi all.. I'm Steve and I am in the Internet Dept. for Newburgh Toyota-Scion. I've been a long time fan of Scion owning one of the first tC's in NY when they came out, as well as on the original Scion Owners Advisory Board. I love Cars.. second only to my wife..lol. She's very understanding..lol Well I am going to be getting a FR-S probably by Spring 2013 and I wanted to get into this community again for both business AND personal reasons.
I've been following the development of the FR-S/BRZ for a couple of years now and really love what it is and what it represents.. so I am really looking forward to owning one. As to the business side.. My dealership's Scion store is small right now.. but we are moving to a new facility next year thats much larger, so I would like to see Scion grow and become important for us.I'm even trying to get them to start a Scion Car Club sponsored by the dealership.. this way we can get discounts on parts, as well as service coupons and such. I think its a good idea..lol. We are of course taking orders for the FR-S.. but we do also sell the full line of Scions.. SO if you are in the Hudson Valley.. please feel free to contact me.
Thanks again for welcoming me, and I look forward to getting to know people on here and seeing you guys at car shows, meets, etc.. in the coming years. I'm interested in mainly adding interior upgrades to my FR-S when i get it.. of course, wheels/tires, definitely a spoiler (5Axis), fog lights and maybe a lip kit.. (TRD?) So i will be very interested to see what you all do with your cars before I get mine.. Thanks Again..

Like some of these people at the top of this thread, I actually do graphics work for a living. Better yet, I bought myself a mt firestorm fr-s this past Tuesday.
So a shout out to my fellow scion owners who design.

Totally up for a meet, still waiting to spot fellow frs owners around here in staten island or the city!

And just throwing it out there as the start of this thread seemed to be about graphics. http://jeffman.tv (needs updating)
