Whatever you are going to get, dont get a vw. Seems like the dog is doing a fender roll.

I once found a dog that ran away (Pit bull) at a gas station. My girlfriend insisted that we take the dog back to.his home at first I was hesitant however the puppy demonstrated he was well trained so I took him.
Long, long story short the 86's back seats are small even for a dog, and even 2 months after this happened it is still very difficult to clean the seats even though the dog was well behaved also the car moves very fast on corners this made the puppy nervous. Either get some seat covers and a way to relax the dog or consider other options |

My current set up FYI.
Simple dog car mat laid out in the trunk and the bed in the center.

I do this for longer trips with the dog, but with a 25lb beagle, she sits up front with me in the passenger seat normally. If your dog isn't too giant, you can just toss him/her in the passenger seat as long as they can lay down (or not, if your dog is like mine and likes to "captain the ship" and lean through all the corners sitting down)
Make sure you put something down on the seats because even the black hair is very visible and sticks to everything. Forget to put down a blanket or something and your entire cabin will be covered in hair - I dig hair out of my shifter boot all the time. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() My dogs love the front seats best. My German Shepherd especially loves the front, very comfy for him. They sit pretty still in the front. I normal have them on a harness and a doggy seatbelt. Once I had to brake really hard cause a off leash dog ran in front of my car, braked so hard my dog nearly fly out the window. ![]() Also, do not have windows down while driving with shedding breeds in the rear... furnado inside the car!!! ![]() (sorry too many pics lol) |

Not for my 70lb golden...lol it worked well for a while, but his weight eventually ripped the end that attached to the front seats.

Am I hearing correctly the back seat is normally accessed through the center?
Does that tear up the console? I'm not crazy about him tracking mud, snow or whatever through the passenger seat after a hike. I'm so used to letting the dog in through the hatch in the mini. Blankets in the back and the front seats stay clean (well some hair flows up there) I think my dog could handle sitting in the passenger seat but I don't think he could lay down on it which would make long trips Tough (occational 3.5 hr drives t my parents' house) I'll have to see how far the front seat moves back for sitting on the floor in the front |
