Is frs good with dogs?
 

So far the frs is hands down the best driving car ive test driven to replace my r53 mini. However, I'm worried about practicality as a daily driver, especially with my 45lb bully mix. I was thinking I could make an Ecoboost mustang work but the frs has me concerned.

Anyone cruise with their dog? Is it easy to get a dog in the back seat?

my shelti comes with me allot, i have a blanket covering the back seat and bought the oem arm rest so she could walk over it better to get out of the car.

Depends on your dog's training and experience. Has it driven MT before? Does it know how to deal with RWD? I would say take it out to a parking lot and let it drive for a bit before hitting the streets.

Don't have a dog but judging from the pics in the Show Me Your Pet thread a pile of people don't seem to have any issue with dogs in their car.

I don't think you'll have any problem with a 45lb dog as long as it doesn't want to hop around a lot.


Since owning the 86 I've taken both of my Newfoundland dogs (clarification for @Tcoat) for rides. Here's Bella getting ready to climb in the back seat to go for a ride. She was just shy of 150lbs. She would lay in the back across the seats with no problem.

And I have an 80 pound Great Pyr-Golden mix that loves to ride in the back... Except for the interior changing to beige.

I have fit a couple of foot long dogs in the back seat with an order of onion rings without a problem. And the dogs had chili AND cheese....

My 50lb border collie sits in the front seat on a blanket every once in a while and leans into the corners with me. :) It's definitely dog friendly.

I have a 70lb golden changing out my interior. I just threw one of those large Costco pet beds with the seats down and he's fine. He hates the front seat because he's forced to sit up, meaning less stability.

Fortunately my dogs match the interior of my car so you can't really tell until you try to clean it!

You should be fine, 45lbs isn't that big of a puppy. Lets see some pics of the 4 legged friend :)

80ish lb Samoyed...he left hair EVERYWHERE, but fit just fine with the back seat down.

My dog does fine in the backseat (~70 lbs). I put cushions on the seats to flatten it out a bit for him, and a dog seat cover over those which covers the seat back and seat cushions to minimize hair buildup. Invest in a good hand vac.
