Only thing i didn't do was mess with the settings on the nex itself(how the smartphone connects and HDMI/Bluetooth settings , if ts a ipod or not blah blah) to a point but that shouldn't matter but i almost threw it into the street so i stopped lol. It does recognize the phone but doesn't mirror it and trust me I've tried it ALL...if it wasn't connected to my OEM audio + , I would of ditched it awhile ago..still a great radio though. I wanted to mirror torque from my phone but the app itself just didn't want to work.
You need to tell the radio how you are connecting, or else it won't work. Also make sure your phone supports MirrorLink.

^. This part is not optional, the head unit is not smart enough to figure out what is talking to it.

Is your phone rooted? If so, ditch Android Auto and Mirrorlink, they are both half-baked solutions. Get AppRadio Unchained Reloaded. Full screen mirroring for any app, not just the ones modified to work on AA and Mirrorlink. I had Tasker set up to launch a custom home screen and launcher as soon as the MHL connection was made to make up for the poor resolution (compared to your phone) of the head unit screen.

Is your TR7 programmed properly and are you using a relay to reverse polarity as it needs to see a ground pulse and the TR7 puts out a power pulse.
Purchased a relay yesterday and will attempt programing the PAC TR7 for my 4100nex tonight. Wiring is not my forte and I'm trying to understand the instructions.

"When it states with start only with power and ground", does that mean only hook up the black ground wire and red 12 volt wire to the relay?

"Then pulse brown wire to ground 17 times." Does this mean take the brown unhooked wire and tap the black ground wire 17 times?

Please accept my gratitude ahead of time for your help!

you start with the power and ground hooked up to your car.

you can tap the brown wire to any ground in the car or the ground you just hooked up.

I tried the app radio unchained using an mhl adapter and hdmi cable and the radio could not mirror my phone and yes the phone was rooted. The radio couldn't figure out the app and connect to it. Didn't matter what setting it was . I could not get it to work

4. Axxess AX-TOYUSB

Im curious to know why would we need Scosche LSAAB Lexus Antenna Adapter?

The OEM HU wires from the car will not attach to the aftermarket 4100nex HU. If you want to continue to use your antennae to listen to local stations, the Scosche LSAAB Lexus Antenna adapter is needed to connect your FRS/BRZ antenna receptor into your aftermarket HU.

I'm nearly 3 months into ownership of 4100nex and could not be happier!

What phone are you using? Samsung phones need the real samsung MHL adapter, there are a ton of fakes floating around on ebay AND Amazon.

For the smartphone connection in setup you have chosen 'Other', correct? Did the phone establish a bluetooth connection? Give me more info and we can get this to work.

I was using a Samsung galaxy s4 with a legit Samsung MHL adapter( i made sure it was not a fake). I dont believe i had it set to other but i recall trying the setting as this was over a year ago when the nex first came out. Now i have a lg G4 which means i need to get a new adapter for it to work.

I had a GS4 with a samsung MHL adapter running full screen mirroring on an AVH-8500BT, the predecessor to the NEX series and it all worked fine using AppRadio Unchained when it was still in beta. Let me know when you get the adapter and we will get this set up.
