Yeah its brutal. They just bend you over, and you're supposed to take it. They don't ever use lube!
I am not sure why males have higher rates though. For example, my ex bought a brand new Matrix (maybe had 2 years driving experience at the time) and she was paying less than half of what I was paying. I see just as many young ladies getting into accidents.

It also depends on location too.

I am moving from Oakville to Mississauga next month, and my premium is going up 39%. I HATE YOU MISSISSAUGA DRIVERS

They didn't just make up the rates at random I am afraid. Young males do have way more accidents then females even if it doesn't seem like it sometimes. More importantly (for the rates) males have more severe accidents and if I remember correctly more twice as many accidents resulting in fatalities. These of course are where the big payouts come in and drive the rates higher. The bigger the city the higher the risk levels and therefore the higher the rates (just look at how Dai's rates dropped when in London). As unfair as it may seem to each young guy as an individual the whole picture certainly supports the higher rates.

YAY ANOTHER MISSISSAUGA TWIN!

And yeah Mississauga sucks for insurance most likely due to its proximity to Brampton!

And also Insurance is totally based off of statistics, as much as I (A 20 year old student) hate them, its all a combination of algorithms for the most part so I believe its pretty fair. I've gotten to know a few serious car guys that work for the insurance industry that tell me if I saw all the claims they do and had to do data entry I would understand why young males are destroyed with premiums, it is what it is I guess :/

Yeah agreed but my postal code is barely Mississauga. I'll be at QEW/Southdown. Not even close to Brampton at all....way closer to Oakville than anything

ohhhh that's true, I've always wondered whether insurance companies go off postal codes or wards or just cities in general... I couldn't believe that the dundas/mississauga road area would have the same premiums as some other parts of the city...

On the plus side youre going be basically right next to JRP!

OK I gotta ask.
What is a JRP and is it someplace I need to visit on my rare excursions in that area?

They sell a lot of performance parts, helmets, driving gloves, etc.
A former co-worker (WRX driver) went in with his daughter one Saturday, and ended up spending a couple hours there.

@Tcoat

http://www.jrponline.com/cs/

Basically they are a store-front for all aftermarket accessories. They usually have a ton of stuff in stock, which is rare IMHO

They are a vendor on FT86club, hardest working man @Stav

@Stav is the man, JRP is always really helpful. The day I bought my car I went in and the girl in the shop just printed out an entire FRS/BRZ dedicated parts catalogue to take home, everyone knows what they are doing. Must visit.

They are also involved in organizing the SPDA events I think since registration is there!
