Well. It's been the warmest this summer at 28C (83F) and the cricquets are back in great form. Been running Shell V-Power E0 at all time no crickets below temp 28C. BRZ 2013 now at 28K km. May be its just a question of cooling the last foot of the gas line in. Little ice bucket that you refill every 10 minutes :-)

if there hasn't ben an official "its this" diagnosis, here you are.....Its the "DI High Pressure Fuel Pump". Toyota/Scion has a Recall on them currently. Get it scheduled and taken care of. I just got my FR-S this past Friday, and it already has this issue. Getting it taken care of. Gotta' love Factory Warranties

Dude, read.
The pump changes did nothing. The guys buying the cars with the "new pump" have the same thing. The 16s will have it as well. Most place pulled the Service Bulletin a year ago (there never was a recall)

I had mine at the dealer this morning for the clutch squeak and the tech started researching using my vin and found the tsb for this and a handful of other things as well as some references to the clutch issue. I need to bring it in again next week so they can solve the clutch problem, replace the fuel pump and do a couple of software updates.

He also said he would cross reference it with his friend who works at the Scion shop next door (same dealership) and see if there are any other things he can do while they have the car. He said 'I noticed you are just over 35k so part of your warranty ends soon so I might as well do everything I can come up with so you don't have to pay, right?' I was speechless

Toyota/Scion here locally has it as a recall, along with the Oil Temp Sensor due to its seal leaking oil.

Thats partly because he will get paid comission on any and all repairs, even if they are factory repairs.

How did they notify of these recalls? Email, letter or did they phone you?

Let me restate that, TSB's not Recalls. I called them because my best friend is the Assistant Service Manager there.

I say don't bother wasting your time taking it to the dealer to replace the HPFP, but that's my opinion.

It may or may not yield any success! I'm saying fuck it since I'm usually playing loud, annoying EDM anyways. As long as it doesn't affect the car in any mechanical function, eh....
