Which Intake for the FR-S?
I'm between both Perrin and Mishimoto, box or mounted in the front bumper?

Plus they do extensive testing (which they share) to support their product releases.

The Mishimoto intake is just about the same thing. Is it not? Not trying to sound like a asshole.

I'd say none purely from reasons that i value most upgrades by their price/performancy. Aftermarket drop-in filter will net you 2/3rds of gains of full intake for 1/5th of price. And less non-stock parts - often better resale value or less stock things to bolt back before sale
![]() For this platform main way to get extra power in NA is header+tune. Only if that's already upgraded, and one must absolutely squeeze anything left to gain (with diminishing returns, as many parts gains don't stack), then also catback exhaust & intake. |

It is often the case that better flow comes at the expense of worse filtration. As it is impossible to find test data on filtration for each filter one doesn't know how much, if any, extra solids are being ingested by the engine. I do not know if it is significant; just that there is no free lunch.

Oil analysis will have excess silica from a crap filter... There has been testing years ago as well (mainly for Supras but the different brands haven't really changed their tech at all) |
