Boost Creep?

I have a P&L Turbo kit tuned by LJ @ FBM. I have an infamous performance EBCS.

My car runs perfect most of the time, but sometimes it will boost creep to 16 psi when I am supposed to be boosting to 14 and this causes me to start leaning out. It does only once in a while. Tonight was one of those nights. Could it be the colder weather? It shouldn't affect it since I have an EBCS.

I have no idea at this point. This car is starting to piss me off.

Based on your post the tune is trying to stop boost at 14 psi which is good. When it is colder you should be making more power easily so then the next thing would be to check the reliability of the wastegate. I'm not too familiar with any frs/ brz kits but the concepts for fi should be the same. What is your spring set to handle? What size is the wastegate? It should be sized properly but it's good to start with those questions.

Boost Creep?

Yea so now the bc and the solenoid should be opening up as needed. Unless you have a crazy big turbo where the wastegate is the bottle neck, which I don't think is the case, then there could be other issues. What size exhaust?

Can you datalog and plot the signal that is being sent to the EBCS during a normal 14 psi run and an overboost 16 psi run? Assuming you are running it with EcuTek?

Is the EBCS connected directly to the compressor housing? Is the 3rd EBCS port venting to atmosphere or running back to the intake?

It is common for it to occure only when cold becuse of the colder air resulting in more power.

Do you have a cat still? A lot of the time a system w/o backpressure will creep a bit.

No cats just a resonater. I had LJ just dump a bunch of fuel at it. E85 doesnt make as much power if you lean it out a lot as pump gas. Now im at 11.5 - 12 afr under full boost so its good

It started doing it again, let me ask you guys this, could fouled plugs or bad coilpacks be causing my leaning out issues? The car starts to lean out under boost when the engine is warmed up, it only does it sometimes, also sometimes under WOT the car kinda like jerks a little bit and the afr goes lean but after that jerk it goes back to the afr it was before.

Im starting to really fucking hate this car. Pardon the language

bad coil packs would make the car run more rich, no? since there is no proper ignition thus not burning fuel? same for plugs since its not going bang. what about bad injectors since that supplies fuel and if they are bad you will have less gas? same goes with fuel pump but it seems like youre getting gas form the tank.

Wouldnt bad injectors cause it to do this all the time? Same for fuel pump. Ill have a log for you guys shortly. I just want to figure out if its mechanical or tune related
