Looking good though. Did you get the wrap separately, or did JDL send it in the kit?

They don't include any wrap.

I really need to get off my ass and wrap my shit... This heat in Phoenix sucks.

Wouldn't insulating the hot side of the turbo be more beneficial than wrapping the intake though, or is it an aesthetic thing as well?

Precision turbo bro. Step your game up to a real turbo.

I don't think he regrets getting that turbo though. Hopefully an outlier. I've heard good things from precision as of late.

That wrap isn't really an insulating wrap. I'm sure it does a little, but it's mostly for reflecting the heat. I wrapped mine since it sits above the dp.

Does a great job reflecting heat. Before, I couldn't hold the pipe after a hard drive because it was hot and now I can hold onto it no problem.

Lol I thought this was. I wouldn't mind upgrading but unfortunately this ain't free. I'm waiting on JDL to contact their precision dealer to see if something could be done through the warranty, I don't think this or any turbo with barely 3k on it should have an uncontrollable leak. I honestly don't want to have to silicone the hole center section to fix this. Let's see what they say.

I don't, I don't want anything bigger, I may have opted for bb but this guy behaved great, feels excellent on top end, mid and even as low as 3k is pulling the car with ease. Hopefully precision could stand up to this and work out a fix as I've done all I can to try and stop the leak.

Do you have your dp ceramic coated? Your intake tube shouldn't be that hot.

Agreed. You've gone far enough into the fix that I think you can hand it off to the manufacturers to figure out.

I hadn't planned on wrapping the intake, but if I find I need to, I guess it won't be terrible at all to pull it off and wrap it.

Yep, I've already removed the drain line so many times I'm afraid to damage anything else. Last try is today, got cooper extra high temp gasket silicone. As suggested, applied it and hand tightened it, let it dry and tightened it a little more. Let's see how it goes but worse case I'll pull the turbo and wait for JDL to get a response from precision.
