Yea that was odd. I was like "wtf? Why is he starting from the back?!?!!". No worries though, I knew he would execute and put a smashing on everybody. Since when was there a z4 bmw in tca? I never seen that guy before and he is potentially a threat.

My gut turned a little bit when I saw that big plume of smoke out the tailpipe of the frs with 10 mins left. Wonder what that could've been? I was thinking blown motor But it definitely wasn't as he went to sent the fastest tca lap right after and holding on to take 1st. Weird.

Anyways, that" s another win for Tony! FRS FTW!!!!

One more race to go. Hopefully that plume of smoke was just a hiccup and they will be strong for this evening's race.

The GTS race is being delayed 50 minutes to allow for track repair. I do not know if they will be able to make that time up during the day or whether it means the Touring Car class race will also be delayed this afternoon.

Wow. Dominant run again by Rivera. I wouldn't be surprised to see more frs/brz in this next year or a reclassification.

32 second victory for the FR-S. 5th win of the season and even though he missed the three Canadian races, he is now second in points.

Yeah...that's just not even fair. it'll be interesting to see what kind of weight he gets assigned and how the rest of the season goes.

I don't think 75 pounds will do that much to eliminate the huge advantage Tony has over the rest of the class. Honestly I'm not sure why his car is so dominant.

LOL. Who says the FR-S is slow? Certainly not the BMW Z4, Civic SI, Mazda RX8 or Kia Forte Turbo Koupe drivers, It is too bad that all the MX-5 drivers took the option to go with the 2.5L engine and move up to TC. It would have been interesting to see the MX-5s of Francis and Poland go against Rivera's FR-S head to head in the same class..

Seriously, Rivera and Michele Abbate are proving that the FRS is a capable car...so many naysayers and poo-pooers on this site saying the FRS is not good enough to race, has too many issues, not powerful enough, s2000 is teh greatest evar, etc. = STFU!

I just guessed it would be 75. They can throw the book at him and make him carry well over a 100 extra. Tony is a professional driver with a least one win in a Porsche in the GT class so he is no slouch. I think some of the other drivers in the class are climbing the ladder. They may not yet be at his level of talent. That and the car is just fast. Besides an intake, tune and removing the exhaust (except the stock header) most the mods are safety, brakes or suspension related. It will be interesting to see how the car performs at Mid-Ohio after they attempt to slow it down (or speed up the other cars). Hopefully, they do not mess with it so much that other teams won't look at campaigning it next year.

My son I just got back from Road America. We missed the TCA race yesterday but saw both races today. Tony makes it look so easy! We were sitting at turn 5 when he had just passed the Z4. We looked at the bigscreen tv behind us and he was already steadily pulling away through the carousel. The FR-S is so much better at cornering it's incredible. When Tony did his last victory lap my son and I waved and he gave us a thumbs up. Oh, and when the announcers did the post race interview they asked him about his pit crew. He said he brings his wife and his daughter. Period. It's great to see small-budget racing succeed. And to see the FR-S do so well!
