I remember reading about very close clearances on an Ace header and the possibility of it hitting something under hard driving..was that the 4-2-1 and has that been changed? Or is it just something to not worry about?

We haven't had any issues. It's more of a disclaimer, since the header uses every bit of space that is available.

In this case though, the CSG testing results seem to be more accurate. The car we tested with had a tune installed day before which may have obscured some data. As far as the type C goes: This was originally designed for RHD customers on short notice. This is why it has "slip" joints instead of seam welds. and the 20* converging angle is because we had to play around with the length of both the primaries and 2-1 merged collector to clear the cross member. We had wedged a 4-2-1 into a Japan car for Suzuka and Tsukuba, but the car had other modifications which allowed it to fit. This header was only designed with Japan, Australia and England in mind. The testing done on it has been limited to this point as we only have a few prototypes and we're still playing with 'em. The 4-2-1 spent over 8months in development before we started production, type C is only up to about 3 weeks. We haven't decided what to do with it yet, but when we do, we'd love to get feedback from the masses on what they think. Anything else, don't hesitate to ask questions. They only help us improve! |

@AceHeader-MT
Could you please explain why the GT86/FR-S/BR-Z Stainless Steel Catless Front Pipe ( http://aceheader.com/index.php/gt86-...nt-pipe-detail ) goes from 63mm inlet to 76mm pipe to 63mm outlet? I would have thought that going back down in diameter would have led to a bit of restriction.

Hey everyone,
We are guilty of causing some confusion with our "type c" and some other new options. I hope this will clear them up: ACE will be offering 2 separate options for the 4-2-1 headers. Header Options Option A: Seam welded 100% by hand Option B: Slip joint welded 75% by hand 25% robotic. 20* converging angle 2-1 Merged collector options 350: Current 2-1 merged collector (LHD ONLY) 100% hand seam welded 250: LHD/RHD 75% hand 25% robotic seam welded. Location on 2-1 collection is closer to header to allow for RHD clearance 150: LHD/RHD 75% hand 25% robotic seam welded. 2-1 collection is very close to header make more high end power and less torque. We are currently back ordered until August which is why we've come up with the slip joint sets which can be produced at a faster rate. It takes over 3 weeks per header with the system we have now. Our website will be updated shortly. We're spending our time at the welding table these days and not on the non-essentials *None of these headers will require an OP and will bolt up to any Frontpipe. EDIT- I don't know how to delete photos, but the collectors are a 350 and 150 Last edited by AceHeader-MT; 06-25-2015 at 11:33 PM. |

Opensource guys may wish to try these cam tables for ace header
other changes will be required to extract max benefit (ie fueling/ignition timing) but these cam tables should work better than the standard OFT EL Header tables for ACE header. see "tune Tweaks" thread below |

Do you have a picture of the 150: 2-1 and how this will help more high end power?

I wish we could use robotic welding in the industry I work ion. Except, we rarely make the same piece more than 10 times. Look how badass you could be
