Will an OFT tune for 93 octane on a 2015 MY BRZ offer as dramatic increases in performance compared to previous MY's? I've read that the 2015 BRZ has an updated, or at least different, OEM tune than the previous MY's and that this new software version tries to minimize (but doesn't eliminate) the torque dip issue.

Everyone seems to rant and rave at how much a difference just an OFT tune (stage 1) can provide but these reviews all seem to come from older MY's. I've read words like "night and day" when it comes to an OFT tune. I'm wondering that with the updated software on the 2015's that an OFT wouldn't be a "night and day" change. Of course, everyone's night and day may be calibrated differently...

I'm running a 2015 and the performance increase would be the same. OFT stage 1 is a nice bump up over stock. I didn't realize just how much of a difference it made until I went back to the stock tune for a comparison video between stock/91/93 and e85 which I plan to post up some day. For the money, it's a good value. It really does help wake the car up, E85 is another bump up yet again with some nice usable low end power.

I agree the difference is hilarious the torque dip softened itself out as well,it justs shows how much the OEM just left on the table and shiv was able to unlock

Yup the OFT rocks da house, the only thing I'm not sure of his tuning support when you want to go forced induction and say go to a local tuner.

Luckily I could drive up to shiv for some tuning if I ever go that route.

Of the wall question, but does why Norton 360 list the open tablet website as malicious? Norton is telling me that there two viruses associated with the open flash website. Not especially fond of the idea.

antivirius software is notorious for flagging false positives to virus.

My Trend micro Pccillin never flags openflash site

What maps come pre-installed on the OFT? I don't have a personal computer (my phone has covered all my needs up until now), and I'm not too fond of the idea of installing the software onto my work laptop.

I'm only looking to flash the stage 1 93 tune for my 2015. My only planned "power" mods are the GrimmSpeed intake and a catback. I definitely won't be replacing any cats.

I'm certain this information is available somewhere; I just haven't been able to find it.

IIRC Stage 0, Stage 1 91 and 93 octane maps, Stage 2 UEL 91 and 93 maps are preinstalled. But its been quite a while since I looked at fresh OFT so I might be wrong.

From what I remember, the OFT comes preloaded with Stage 1, Stage 2 UEL/EL and UEL/EL E85. IIRC the default stage 1 tune is a 93 tune. I think I read somewhere that @Shiv@Openflash does the majority of the tuning on 93. He then reduces some timing in the upper RPM band for 91 and confirms that it is safe with data logging.

Finally got my OFT unboxed and read the stock. Will be running stage 1 tomorrow until I can get my UEL headers installed over July 4th and will be stage 2

update:

Butt dyno says lowend is better, definitely an enjoyable upgrade. Going to dyno stock vs stage 1 on Friday, then next Friday stock vs stage 2 after UEL headers have been installed this weekend (couldn't wait..)
