Ah you must have the PMD header instead of the PLM.

Ahh yes, the different letters must bring the torque dip back a few hundred RPM's

Yes sir! PMD will tell you more about it. That's the reason theirs cost about $300 more than the PLM.

That would be the third pic, runs 5 - 6. My best tune without wayno's additions. The torque dip isn't easy to tune out without a dedicated dyno. Get a supercharger. It completely eliminates torque dips. If I ever eliminate the torque dip on my car before I get my ESC, I'll post the Intake and Exhaust "safe" tables to put into your tune. I hate that torque dip with a smoldering resentment, like "How could they?". It's an insult to this fine automobile.

Yes. They include a plug to remove the resonating chamber that is in the way of the header.

The larger resonating chamber in the intake does get quite warm. There may be a chance of it melting under really heavy repeated load. However a full drift day in 90* heat and I did not have a problem.

I will be getting an aftermarket intake at some point however.

VE spreadsheet calc's anyone

I went to http://www.otctools.com/ve to calculate VE on my best run. Not good. Best at full throttle, top speed was 77%. High IAT was definitely a factor. I'm going to find the calculations to do a quick and dirty VE to include in a spreadsheet that I can paste my logs into. That will at least help me tune out the torque dip by increasing the VE in the bad areas. Here are some pics illustrating the bad areas.

edit:
This is what happens if you don't buy PMD. Apparently the part dies without you...

A pic of what? There are plenty of this one and the nameless (they are identical as far as how they mount/clearances)

I have to admit while I love the sound of the header at natural revs, under a heavy load they sound like shit..

I just spent the night replacing and trying to find an exhaust leak, there does not appear to be one so I can only assume its the headers making noise from being "thin" and probably a shitty merge collector.

I'm going to play around a bit more and see if I can track it down, otherwise I'm going to attribute it to header noise.

The higher pitch sound at high RPM's doesn't bother me. I think these headers make the exhaust itself sound quite exotic with my TRD catback. I just can't stand going past buildings and hearing a "ticking/rattling" noise under load from the header.

Is it hitting a small resonator box?
