What size B&M would you suggest for the FRS?

I DD about 20-25k miles a year and am just getting into autox and may do a few track events, but probably only 1-2 a year.

Here is a link to the ones we use on all our race car automatics and our customer cars over the years.

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/bmm-70255/overview/

Just put it in-line with the OEM cooler lines that feed into the radiator from the AT. Next time we have an AT car in the shop I'll snap some shots of where those lines are for you guys.

Any ideas on how to install this (like what lines to connect to this cooler)? Also, is this cooler for the engine oil or transmission fluid?

I think going to the dealer for this service is the correct way to get this done - im at 35,6xx miles - Ill ask for transmission and diff fluid change service.

A transmission cooler is a smart idea if pushing big numbers or generating a lot of heat.
Would, lets say Scion, be able to full the correct amount if cooler was added?

Thanks

Has anyone dropped the oil pan? I don't see a way of checking for and removing any debris without doing this. Did you need a new gasket to do this?

Definitely NOT 100k, honestly anywhere between 40000-50000 miles is a safe time:

"Fluid will be inspected every 30,000 miles or 30 months and will be replaced every 60,000 miles or 60 months and uses Toyota Specific World Standard fluid with capacities of 7.9 quarts"

I was bored so I checked the service manual, if they do the process properly, which involves starting the engine putting the transmission in drive letting it reach temperature and checking the fluid levels again, then it should fill the cooler, this is assuming the cooler has no thermostat and free flows otherwise I'm not sure their fill technique will reach the correct temp to open the thermostat and allow ATF to flow to the cooler dropping the levels and making them add more......

According to the service manual "The ATF temperature must be between 42 and 47°C (108 and 117°F) to accurately check the fluid level.". I personally think that as long as the mechanic does a proper following of the service manual and does a good test drive and checks the fluid level again you should be fine.

Thanks for the reply! I agree with you - I still have not reached 40K key, but im close. I went ahead and ordered Motul Gear 300 fluid for the diff fluid swap. I will be doing the fluid change and bilstein b14 coil install next monday - I think I heard somewhere Scion would want $250 for the trans fluid service - I will call Scion next Monday as well, unless somebody has info

And last thing, I am Phil LOL I made your key!
