If next gen RX is based off the ND then expect it to be around the weight of the FR-S. If the next RX7 comes with a turbo rotary(295hp/280tq) plus weigh 2750-2800lbs and cost 30-32k it will be the best sports car under 60k in my honest opinion. I think if this happens an 86 turbo will come after.

I've seen multiple tests that showed 48/52 for the FD, probably with a 3/4 to full 20 gallon tank and driver. Here is one: http://www.fd3s.net/magazine_article...article02.html

I think the Miata is cross-shoppable with the Twins as they are both fun track cars that can be used as daily drivers. For me personally, I'm not a convertible guy so wouldn't buy a Miata. I also needed four seats (however small lol) for kiddos.

Sorry, but the back seats in the twins are only usable for people with no legs.

I've put people (mostly women under 5'7"ish ) back there on short lunch type trips many times. All you have to do is slide the front seats forward. Its roomier than it looks especially on the passenger side..

Yes and when you move the front seat forward the wheel is in your chest and your face is against the glass.

No it doesn't. You could have a 2.4L V8 or 2.0L 6-banger. Think you mean displacement.

I think that's an oversimplification that misses the point. A Camaro and Challenger don't weigh 4000lbs because of the power. Corvettes had the same or more power pushing 3100lbs. It's just being cheap. Cheap steel weighs more. Period.

it doesnt miss the point. are you trying to say that if the 370z was 80k and 800 lbs lighter it would be a better comparison to a twin?

Bizzare thought process you have there. At least you acknowledge cars aren't heavy just because they make more power or have bigger engines.

Okay, I'll play along with the bad logic. Are you saying if the 86 had a 3.5L V6 making 270hp it would have to weigh 700lbs more like a Nissan?? Obviously then, if the 86 made 400hp it would have to weigh 1000lbs more like a Chevy. Put like 250lb rotors on each corner to stop that beast!! Oh wait, higher performance brakes can usually be lighter. Maybe you need like three 350lb offensive linemen strapped in the back to keep the car from flying off into space with all that powah!

a bit of a stretch. im not saying that you just add more weight because you have more power. its okay to put words in my mouth. im not saying cars are heavy just because they make more power.
