Are their any 225 tires that run 'wider' than others?

Just installed 225/45/17 PSS. Nothing but good things to say so far, super grippy and the extra tread and fitment on the rim is very much to my liking. Here's on picture after I got home, not the greatest angle but gives you an idea of how it looks on the wheel.

Every tire reacts differently to "squeezing" it onto a rim. Experimenting encouraged, just don't go to crazy. haha
I used Toyo R1r a long time ago and I liked them on a Squeezed setup, Hankook RS3 was good too, but they felt way different. |

I went with a 215 MPSS for two reasons.
1. I wanted my set up to be as light as possible. 2. The 215 has the same size contact patch as the 225. I believe that means you will have the same amount of rubber on the ground. The 225 will be heavier and have more flex because it will be pinched making it a disadvantageous choice... in theory anyway... Last edited by wootwoot; 06-05-2015 at 11:13 PM. |

The rim mounting width?
![]() I run 225 Nitto Invos on my OEM wheels. I must say I like them alot for a daily tire, and the sidewall flex is not bad at all |
