Aftermarket Headlights

Ok for those of you with aftermarket headlights, I have a question for you. I am currently running spyder headlights on my FRS and previously ran spec d headlights. I disliked both of them to be honest. The spec d's I got were defective and didn't have any sort of bulb output adjustment and had horrible output all together, and had DRL's that'd wash away in any sort of sunlight. The spyders are slightly better but still not great, I was willing to live with it. Up until one of the halos went out. I paid extra for the CCFL and they worked for maybe 4-5 weeks. That's absurd, and on top of that, I also disliked how the projectors looked when powered on. The HID's looked bright on the road but looked barely on and extremely dim when looking directly at the car, especially compared to my fogs and even other cars on the road. I'll take a picture to show what I'm referring to. So now the only option I have are the Winjet headlights.

So my question is what do you guys think of the winjets? Anything I should be concerned about? I read some stuff about condensation issues but they are dated threads so I don't know how much info I researched is still relevant, hence why I made a new thread.

Thanks in advance guys! Hopefully I get lights I'm finally happy with soon!

Have had the winjets for a couple days now through severe rain, the lighting output is fine with the stock halogens if you aim them correctly which is imperative to have proper output. As for the LEDs I kind of wish there was an easy way for free to make them always on, but they are really noticeable unless your right on top of the car. You can see the beautiful white LEDs in other cars when your behind them and it looks mean

How do you guys like the projectors on them? Do they look well illuminated when looking directly at them?

Looking directly at the headlights is not how you should gauge the lighting its from other cars and at night where you should worry about it. But yes they do.

Yeah I know your right about that. It just bugged me how on the spyders, the HID's wouldn't fill in the projectors that great and made it look really dim. I guess I'm just worried about the projectors on the winjets being like that also. Thanks for letting me know they aren't!

As projectors have a sharp cutoff, if you're above the cutoff, the headlights SHOULD be noticeably "dim"

Install was a super easy joke no relays or nothing also adjusting the cutoff is easy just use a Philips screwdriver to spring the gear on the 8 mm nut on the back of the light mine came completely misaligned. Install took at max like 2 hours with a friend who's already done the install

You could try retrofitting the stock headlights with something like this...

It's been simplified with this kit but it's still going to require some elbow grease.

My spyders cut off is great and the light output looks normal for a projector headlight. Have pictures of it?

You make a good point there lol but I'm practically done with that project. Just debating if I really want to put them on the car. I love the stock projectors but I'll really miss that vintage 86 LED DRL strip lol
