They increased the price by $400-500 for the 2016 models. Now the auto is in the 27k range. Not sure how that is going to affect their sales.

My friend told me on his new (at the time) 2004 Mercedes, he found out they used some 2003 parts. You guys ever hear of such a thing and are we in danger of that?

Common parts can be used for many years until there is a major change. This is not unusual at all and in fact happens more often than it doesn't. If they made all different parts for every model year nobody would be able to afford cars.

Good to know.
One part he said used from the old year was the rims. He said they used old style rims on his new style car.

2016 SCION FRS NEWS....

There's a new marketing video for the 2016 FRS. It's on the front page of scion.com then go into that big FRS landing page. Pretty cool video.

Ok that is a different matter. I don't know why they would do that unless there was some back story he didn't know or wasn't telling. Things get screwed up but wrong rims would never pass inspection at end of line.

Where were the stripes mentioned?

It may be a regional thing. Southeast Toyota is separate from the rest of the US. They appear under packages. The screen clip is at the bottom below. Now that I see them again though they aren't the ones I would want. I'd want the European ones like on the Hot Lava one also shown.

Those don't look too bad, but I was thinking that they might be skinner and closer together...

Ahh... yes. That MUST be it...

Subaru does the same thing w/ New England. So while the rest of the US is serviced by SOA (subie of 'merica) we get different delivery dates up here 'cause we have SNE (subie of new england).

I've read on other toyota forums about the Southeast being different, but didn't even think about it in the context of Scion/FRS.

Learn something new every day!
