They're a small shop and released a really nice sounding piece for the new-gen WRX when I noticed them. Since then they've only grown.

Btw this was posted awhile back on there blog but I think Saclam is stirring up something for the 86. They make the best sounding exhausts IMO.

Example of there S2000 exhaust
Saclam makes amazing sounding exhausts by focusing on fine-tuning harmonics. However, they refuse to sell any of their products outside of Japan (the owner is paranoid about his designs getting stolen). The only way to get a Saclam exhaust is to be located in Japan and either purchase it directly from them, or purchase from a shop that sells their products like ASM.

The race pipe is not too loud at all. Reaffirms my decision to make a lightweight Burns Stainless. Shouldn't be too loud.

This is more than a strong possibility. From my sources, they are still completing R&D for their "race" exhaust with the dual tips, which I'm sure you've all seen. Basically time will tell all, but just like you expect Varis to release top of the line aero parts, don't expect Fujitsubo to fall short. Wait on your exhaust choice, & you won't be disappointed!

Here's a teaser in the meantime. They basically have to get this ready specifically for the NA BRZ. http://www.fujitsubo.co.jp/english/super_ti.html

Btw their race exhaust in Japan terms means entry level. Lol

I like the sound of the Vivid Racing, Autofactory, TRD w/ "D" shaped exit exhausts and some of the more adult yet snarly notes,(sound of old MG and Triumph sports cars). I'd like dual exit (no discoloring) and I'd like the exit tips to appropriately fill the opening on the factory rear valance. Lastly Stainless steel construction with a gain of maybe 7-10 hp and 10% less weight than factory. I'd be willing to pay less than $1200. Is this realistic? I hope Borla does something as I've always liked their exhausts on Euro products... Am I asking too much?

The Saclam is a very interesting looking exhaust. It clearly needed a lot of testing to get all the pipes lenght correct to avoid any kind of drone and get the tone right.

They use a completely different approach from us, we look for performance and then we modify the exhaust to avoid drone or other sound problems (too metallic, to quiet, too loud etc)

The problem with sound-tuned exhaust systems like this is that if you change the headers, the cats, the intake, the cams etc they often don't work so well anymore as the pressure waves change.

I'm thinking the same thing: replace the mid-pipe resonator with a Burns Stainless and delete the rear muffler.

Ha! That would be cool. But I am actually thinking of this:
- hacking off the exhaust after the mid-pipe resonator
- welding on a 2.5" v-band
- 2.5" into a 2x 2" outlet y-pipe
- 2x 2" Burns Stainless lightweight race mufflers
- 2 nice (not too big) tips

I am thinking the mid-pipe resonators are what kill the drone. I like dual tips (1 per side) for looks on this car.

Also 2x 2" pipes have almost as much surface area as a 3" pipe. It's effectively a 2.8" pipe, and happens to be the same size as the HKS dual pipes.

That's my car. we've got a high flow catted downpipe and a muffled axleback on the car right now from nameless. We've got vids and dyno plots coming for all of the parts. They did also do a midpipe, but it made no power and was super loud, so we put the stock one back on. they also did intake development, as well. That should be out next week. The axleback and downpipe are now available for sale, too..
just call em up.

WingsofWar went down with me and got the video, he will be posting it today or tomorrow
