I dont think the "market adjustments" will end during this 1st year. For every one of you who doesnt want to play ball there are 2-3 who are dumb enough. Like earlier in this thread someone said they sold the first one for $4k over MSRP and now the next one will go for $5k MSRP. IMO, the more you call around for availability the more the dealers think "it'll sell"

I think the best bet is to wait for a used one 1-2 years from now, but if this keeps up these cars might hold their value more than we think..

The markups will gone much sooner than that. These cars are somewhat limited, but not truly limited when you think about sought after vehicles like the GTR, Boss 302, Audi R8, and Ford GT. Those cars held their value because of their desirability and the fact they were extremely hard to find, even at least one model year into their run. The FRS/BRZ will be produced in far greater quantities and the FRS/BRZ simply do not have the built in panache of a GTR or R8.

I agree with this. I have not seen the FR-S marketed as a "Limited Edition". It is a normal production model for Scion. It's just limited right now because it's new and a limited number have been manufactured and are available so far. Wait till next year when they are more common and the markup will go away.

Remember, even the PT cruiser had 3-10K markups when they first came out. They couldn't GIVE those things away (I'm not kidding) as little as two years later.
