Anyone else's pedals fall apart?
7800kms on the car. No hardcore racing/shifting. Kind of funny how poorly assembled it is. Thinly placed glue just peeled off.
I want to bring it in for warranty but don't trust the dealership doing anything on my car. They stripped the overpipe lugs when they installed the block heater which took me a day to remove and rethread

Super glue would work, but for something that is covered under warranty, your dealer should be able to handle it.
That said, if you have issues trusting them with something as simple as a pedal, perhaps it's time to find another dealer? |

Mostly to park while I run in to get coolant, filters, that kind of thing. Subaru folks come out of the building and look at my BRZ like it's from mars. They want to see all the mods and they are excited. Think about that for a second - it means they haven't seen a ton of mods. When I take it to a real shop - they are appreciative but - they have seen it a zillion times and way over the top of my mods. They all own cars with more HP, more sizzle, better tunes etc. This is because they are truly passionate about modding/tuning. (Back to the dealership) There is that horrible moment when your car disappears somewhere out of sight to be worked on by some random person. I am much more comfortable meeting the mechanics, getting to know them, having them know my car and knowing that they take pride in the work. That we share similar ideas of what constitutes attention to detail and quality work. It is more than just a set of goals or blurbs from a corporate manual - it is a way of life. Not all of us have the time and equipment to do major modifications but you guys aren't anywhere near the independents or serious home mechanics. I don't even trust the Subaru dealership to change my oil correctly let alone changing a clutch. If there is one thing that Subaru can do to gain our trust - warranty your work and find a better way to service our crowd - the platform was built to modify - so - support us in that. Otherwise - stick to spending money on R/D and base car production. We all love you for that! The day I see a special set of bays at a Subaru shop with an employee parking lot full of tuned subies - that is the day I might be open to taking a spin through. Subaru has separated the line-up of cars - you need to separate the maintenance as well. Open true mod shops and do business like the independents. I think the Subie folks need to take a trip out to some of the local, successful tuner shops and see what makes them different. Instead of sending us lame birthday cards asking us to come in to get an oil change - throw a monthly BBQ/drive in and invite some interesting people to speak. Anyway - like I said - don't sweat it too much. We all love the cars but Subaru could really wake up and grow in the service area. We are different than a grandma and her Outback. Well, most of us

Of course with some owners, as soon as they screw up it is somehow the car's quality or somebody else that they blame because it can't possibly be their fault. Not taking a car in for valid warranty work because you don't trust the dealer is just foolish. If they screw something up then they have to fix it not you.
