Right now, for the past 2600 miles, i've been running ENEOS Sustina. At my 5000 mile mark, which is coming up in about 75 miles, i'm switching over to Royal Purple 0w-20. Going to be fun to see (if any) a difference!

Just did my first oil change after buying the car (bought it used at 4700 miles). Mobil1 EP was a big difference than the dealer oil. Engine feels and revs smoother.

tl,dr
1/ A uoa is the only way to find out if an oil is good for your application or not.
2/ From what I have read an early oil change with a not so good oil is better than a late change with a better oil.

Just put in the Napa Synthetic AKA Valvoline Synpower. So that's what I voted. It's definitely oil.

So will anyone update the poll to include additional brands?

Seems like a lot of people use RP, but they probably don't even vote on this.

So what is the reasoning behind changing your oil after only 2500 miles? Want to waste money?

No? That's your opinion. It's my 6 month mark, so I had to change it. It doesn't affect me wasting money either. For you, maybe. For me, no.

6 months interval, I would agree with (and was left out of your original post).

No offense taken. That was my fault for leaving that information out. I should have specified.

Not sure why but I recently just did an oil change with motul 8100 0w-20 (done by shop) from Subaru oil... Engine seems to hesitate at startup and I've noticed that the car has A LOT more over run with pops and bangs which seems unrelated but even my friends have noticed it since the day I had the change.... I obviously can't tell if its making more or less power but I feel like the car is not happy with it :s

I've checked the oil levels and its about .5mm under the full line on the dipstick

Surprised to see name brand oils causing problems.

Kinda like another post, important thing is having oil, brands only have slight variances that you won't see until long term usage.

I normally do six moth oil changes, but this thing is under warranty so I'll let Subaru mess with it. They do offer Elf oil for a little extra which I'll probably opt for that. http://www.pleiades-zero.com/?page_id=2

If it pops they are replacing it.
