I'd love to see some self-deprecating FR-S/GT86 commercials.
Since it looks "fast" but isn't, it's best to not take it too seriously.

That vid was painful to watch... Trying for satire but falling flat.

It's hard to believe the ND will be 1 second faster. Maybe if it had 185hp I could believe that. But I believe it will be .1 seconds quicker than a FR-S at best.

It is not currently listed as an accessory by Mazda or Mazdaspeed.

Interesting.
I'm actually surprised more manufacturers haven't done this, it's hard to reduce drivetrain friction.

none of the FR-S commercials have been good, the closet one was the first. but that one made that car out to be what it isn't, fast.
I agree about the FRS commercials, and that Mazda commercial was nice. I will say there are some pretty good BRZ commericals though:

You gotta remember though, that engine is a relative torque monster considering the mass it's pulling. For low powered cars that initial start is important.

interesting enough i have never seen a BRZ commercial here in the US

i still say the best was the one about the father and son.

Here is an interesting quote from an online article about the 2016 MX-5:

"The car already has one big fan: Toyota Motor Corp. President Akio Toyoda. He sang its praises on May 13 at a news conference to announce a wide-ranging product, technology and manufacturing partnership with Mazda.

In the run-up to the deal, he test drove Mazda's cars and said the MX-5 Miata was his hands-down favorite.

"I really wanted to drive that car," the car-crazy Toyoda said. "That's a car I can really understand."

Mazda will build a version of the MX-5 Miata to be sold by Fiat. But Yamamoto declined to comment on whether Mazda was considering supply deals to other automakers, including its new partner, Toyota."

I want a rotary powered coupe.

I still pull up the article where Tetsuya Tada said they considered rotary power when developing the 86.

This just fuels my inner fanfiction writer.
