I was driving home from work last night and I turn down one of the main streets downtown where the speed limit is 45 and I see a stock V6 mustang turn behind me and come racing in and out of cars with no signals trying to catch me and eventually flying by me up to the red light ahead. While we sit at the light he blasts his music and revs his engine over and over, first thing I notice is its an auto and bone stock, second thing is my radar is going off at 4, max is 6, so I figure lets get him a ticket. I launch off the light to the speed limit and then let off and he goes flying by at around 60 and continues to accelerate. I throw it in 6th and just wait for the magic to happen. As it were, there was a bike cop sitting just over the peak of a small hill and catches him doing well over the speed limit and pulls him over. I cruise by at the speed limit and just laugh at the very expensive ticket this dumbass just got and thank god that im not young and dumb and that I have a good radar to keep me out of trouble.

Haven't figured a radar detector into the stuff I'm getting for the car once I get it. Now I just might for occasions such as this.

Mind if I ask what brand/model you have?

I have said this very thing about 10 times in this thread. I have even spoke to several people that reved me and they confirmed that was what they were doing. Not that there aren't loads that are challenging us but many just want a look at the car.

I don't buy it.
They were just intimidated by that moustache and didn't know what else to say.

I've never revved at someone nor been revved at just for attention and a friendly wave.

Generally all you have to do is look over when you see a fellow tuner/sports car enthusiast and they'll probably be looking back. If they're not, and you really feel the need to give em the big thumbs up or peace sign, then a quick chirp of the horn will usually suffice and prevent you from looking like a douche.

Unless you get the "Sweet ride bro! Let me hear that thing!" comment. Then you only look like a douche to all the other people on the road around you that aren't involved in the convo.

That's just me though

maybe thats what ppl do over there in your guys' areas, but not once has this been the case for the 20yrs ive been driving here in socal. when im driving by and some fool is driving aggressively and then revs at me, i look at the driver too, not just the car. when they have a smug look or whatever douchebag face and are acting a fool, i have a hard time believing that they're revving to say wassup and nice car. i always try to give the other person the benefit of the doubt first, but you know within a couple seconds what they're up to when they pull up and you look at each other.

but then again, i also think a majority of LA people are ****s anyway. lol

Last week at the car wash I was doing the usual drying/detailing at one of the vacuum stations.
Hear a loud honk next to me, when I look over it was an orange Camaro just out of the car wash. After getting my attention, he immediately spin his tires and takes off only to be stopped 20 feet after at the exit by all the cars on the street.

I just laughed at him and kept doing my thing...

Lmao I had a similar experience, when I was in the empty part of the parking lot having a smoke outside my car. Heard what sounded like a rice rocket cannon turn on and saw this grey Infiniti with blackout tail lights and super bright purple head lights and I guess he saw me stare at him for that spilt second because he sped through the entire parking lot and "drifted" next to my car while blasting rap. Then proceeded to run a couple of stop signs and ran the red light outside the parking lot. 😒

Well, I guess he showed you, brah.

I don't think I've had and requests to race. I get much love in the BRZ actually, no standoffish behavior. Anytime I see an RX8, an MRS or something in my weight class I do shift gears mentally. I like to play. Unfortunately, the Americans around here don't really know what the car is and think it's super fast.

I had a guy eyeballing me in the parking lot as I was starting my car. As he was getting into and EVO, 4 or 5, it escapes me right now, I killed some time changing CDs until he left. If I was in a WRX, sure, bring it, but not the BRZ.

two days ago I passed a bmw 545 on the way to work who was pulled off the side of the road. I looked over and thought that's a nice car for a sedan...

A couple of minutes later, I turn at a stop sign and see him accelerating at me on a one lane and then backing off again a few times in a row, I'm like WTF???

Then it opens up into two lanes and he starts to take off... I nipped that in the bud and when he realized his car wasn't fast enough, he stops and proceeds to do donuts across all four lanes of traffic smoking his tires to high heaven...

I'm thinking drugs were probably involved...lol

Yeah the passports are awesome but i got the cobra for free so i'm not complaining haha. I also downloaded the traffic camera/speed camera files onto my SD card so that helps me out as well. I only have the sound on for my radar when doing canyon runs.
