In that dyno chart it looks like your boost target was 9psi, was the target changed to 15, or was it an over boost condition when you said you registered 15
It's not very clear in the text

Not gonna lie, I was pretty sad when I heard your engine made some extra holes in it a while back.
Glad to see it back on the road! Hopefully I run into you on the road one day, I'd imagine were pretty close to each other. |

It's a little shocking that you're surprised to see them handle it this way. Why would any shop want to continue helping someone that bashes them in public? Quote:

I'm honestly surprised they answered you at all after the way you publicly bashed them. If I was them I'd just ignore your calls and put you on a blocked email list.

Maybe someone should invent a device that makes sure that you cannot overboost your engine.....

Which is a very good reason why you should run one. Never understood why people even use MBC's anymore lol. They hold boost way better as well throughout the RPM range.
I keep seeing failures of wastegate lines popping off, vacuum lines popping off...those should be the #1 priority in terms of damage control. I bought all AN fittings for my EBC, wastegate, and anything else I could get my hands on in order to prevent that (OP this isn't pointed to you, just general comment). To be fair, we don't know if OP was running an EBC or not though, since i haven't seen a mod list. Either way, sucks to have an engine blow up no matter what the cause. |

Because everyone can tune remotely and cheap turbo/SC kits are available. Even 10 years ago, there wasn't any issues like this with boosted applications. You'd have to get it tuned no matter what, so everyone started out with a crappy tune. One thing a lot of people fail to realize is that the FA20 has a very high stock compression. While it is great from a Volumetric Efficiency perspective, it also means the margin for error is very very small. It just comes with the territory of a new car + all this fancy 2015 remote tune stuff. -alex |

If the EBC relies on a vacuum line and that line pops off it's no help either.
You would need the EBC to be totally controlled by the ECU using the MAP sensor to avoid that.

Because an electronic boost controller has a lot more to offer than a manual. Manual boost controllers are cheap and pretty reliable so can't knock that. I just like that you have better boost control and it doesn't bleed off boost like a MBC does.
There are positives and negatives to both, i've used both so its just my opinion. |

This is a reason why I decided to AN fitting everything on my setup. One less thing to worry about.
