Crawford Built Short Block

I didn't see this so I figured I would start it. This is going to be for everyone that has Crawford's built short block installed. This thread is intended to document and discuss any pros and cons with this build. I am currently waiting on mine to be finished up and should be by early next week. Please include the following:

1) Reason (i.e. engine blew up)
2) Turbo/Supercharger/NA
3) OFT/Delicious Tune
4) 91/E85/Other
5) Miles on built block
6) Break-in process
7) Location

1) Engine blew up
2) Borg Warner EFR 7064 turbo
3) Delicious Tune (flash and go)
4) E85
5) 0
6) Will be slow. No more than 3500 rpm for the first 500 miles. Increase gradually towards 1000 miles. I'll change the oil filter after 100 miles.
7) SoCal

Before stock engine blows and before the spark plugs get changed out:

As always you can post your dyno charts and other add-ons like the Billet Power Blocks.

Lol great! The engine wasn't that much, I just spent that much getting a ton of other stuff since the engine was out. Apparently I have low oil pressure and the cams won't work right until I'm at 1100 rpm. So that's where my idle is set at.

Are you still running a turbo on the new built block?

So what caused the rod to go on your original block?

Mr. Aaron Chambers,

At this time, we have gone above an beyond to support you, taking care of all your requests for updates to your tune and diagnosing idle issues for improperly installed components at no charge to you.

Now you are stating a "bad tune" caused your engine to fail, but you have failed to mention you worked on your own vehicle the day before your engine blew. Did you maybe forget to hook up a vacuum line? That would cause an over-boost condition. You did state that after working on your vehicle it was a LOT faster, which it should have not been any different then before you worked on the vehicle. This leads us to think there was an over-boost condition that you brought on by an installation error.

Also if you really had a problem with the tune, you would have not come back for another tune after your engine blew, correct? But yet you came back for another tune from us on your new engine.

I am sorry but purposely going out of your way to bad mouth us behind our backs, online, on forums, on Facebook is uncalled for. We have been more then generous and at this time we will no longer support your tune, or anything to do with with your vehicle.

Furthermore if you have a problem with your CA-Fi unit please contact the manufacturer directly.

Regards,
William Knose

Calling me by my full name, wow, am I in trouble Dad? First off, I never touched my car the day before the engine blew. That would be Evasive Motorsports which installed spark plugs to your specifications. Also, when you sent me the email originally, I had already taken that video off of YouTube. Instead of coming to me like a man, you cowardly send an email about it, not trying to resolve the issue but cutting ties altogether. But with my car having so many issues, I guess it was the perfect time and excuse to be done with me so you don't have to deal with my cars drama/issues.

I say overboost because my torque app read over 30 psi. Even with the atmospheric pressure calculated in, that puts me at 15.3 psi. I stated that after I went to Phoenix and JDL found the issue with the vacuum line not clamped on and not connected, when installed properly yes, it was fast. I am not going out of my way to bad mouth anyone on any social media. People ask questions and I provide an honest opinion. If I don't know, then I say "it could of been but not sure". You've had engines blow up and so has every other tuner in the world. It's just the cost of doing business.

Isn't your updates to your tunes free? If your tunes are the reason a car isn't running right, why should I pay more for your mistakes that should of already been worked out? As for the CA-FI head unit, why wouldn't you make this right? Selling me a defective head unit and not trading it for a good one? Not very many people want to hear this is how you treat customers, mad at them or not. If you cannot swap out my head unit for one that actually has a micro SD drive in it, then I should be able to return it for a full refund and buy the same thing for half the price.

You know I really liked you guys, you helped me out a lot. You have worked on my car on a few occasions late at night and I am and was very grateful. It is hard to fathom all this bullshit over a little video that was deleted. Childish.
