Got a big weekend coming hopefully. Going to be doing my first bumper pull to install the Grille and the Hella's. Also planning to do the engine bay lighting if I can and maybe try to get the visors on this weekend too.

Lip kit is coming next week, so we'll see how that plays out with regards to getting fitted, but it might end up going on the following weekend. Hopefully I'll be kitted out by the Moto East meet.

Big day today, got a lot done, but had a LOT of setbacks too. Managed to sheer a bolt on the condenser for the A/C unit by just trying to loosen it a little to get some extra space and couldn't even get it back out so it's now tied down in place to keep it from vibrating.

Anyways, with the bad out of the way, onto the good. Today marked the first ever bumper pull for the BRZ. Scary moment until we got it off for the first time. With that off we went to work on the fun projects:

The supertones sound much better and with this being my DD I'm glad that I'll be heard. Also, they look great behind the grill

The Grillcraft grill look should have been stock IMO. It looks SO much better than the stock grill and really finishes off the styling on the front in a way that I was looking for. s it expensive; Yes. Does it look like it's worth it when it's on; Hell yes.

Another shot of the grill with the ST's

Lastly, using a little more of the Diode Dynamics goodness (lord knows I haven't put enough DD stuff on so far) I added this little extra.

And, of course, with the lights off.

Well the CS lip kit turned up yesterday. Hopefully I'll have it installed before the Moto East meet.

Are you painting your lip kit? I have a DGM and was going to leave them unpainted but really wasn't a fan of the semi gloss finish they come with. Painting was a PITA, but the matte black look is so much better IMO

Pro-tip: Really sand down where you are going to apply the 3M on the side skirts (I used 60 grit), whether you paint them or not. I found the 3M did not stick to the plastic very well unless I did, but it sticks to the car just fine.

Thanks for the tip. I'm thinking of trying it unpainted to begin with to see if it blends with the OEM rear diffuser. If not then I'll probably take them all off and hit them with some black plastidip and see how that goes.

As for mounting I'm going to be screwing them down, I trust 3M but not enough to just use that and nothing else, especially with the weather out here.

Yup, you will definitely need to drill the sideskirts. I did 8 per side. Mine did not come with mounting hardware, so I picked up #8 self tapping screws, big ass washers and a few 3/32 (double check that) drill bits. The 3M really just helps make the installation 100X easier by letting you mount the skirt perfectly before you start drilling. I'm sure it also helps to keep the rattles at bay.

Your car is looking sexy as hell BTW. Nice mod choices. Love seeing how fellow DGM owners are modding their cars

Thank you, I've got a few more things in the works, but the car is definitely getting to a point, both externally and under the hood, that I'm very happy with. I'm going to have to revisit my diffuser as it seems to have worked itself loose. Didn't find out until I was waxing it today.

I got the RMA pretty quickly, but still can't get that working either. Not sure what the issue is as I'm using a Droid Turbo, and also have tested it with an iPad mini and an iPhone as well. As for the RMA, I actually got an email that I ignored for a few days as it didn't look like it made any sense, but when I visited the site they had the RMA section there and it had something completely different to the email within it and they were basically asking me for my address to send the new one.

Thank you. I'm thinking Valenti Blacks, but I'm going to get some mileage on the tail as turn mods using the stock lights for now. But I sense Valentis in my future

did you do anything special for the Hella horn install? were there mounts already to mount it in that position, and did you need to run extra wiring? I'm looking towards getting a pair of Hella's and was thinking of where to mount them.

With this being a 2015 and a brand new vehicle I didn't want to do a hack and splice job on the wiring, so I spent a little bit more money and got this. It's plug and play, there are two wires (a red and black) that run into the existing high tone plug, a black ground loop and the loop for the battery and sealed connectors to go to the back of the horn. It's all tied together with enough sealed wiring to bring it down into the cavity between the right front wheel well and the front bumper. To top it off it comes with the relay that you'll need also tied into the same wiring loom. To me it was $45 well spent and the whole project is completely reversible if I ever wish to go back

As for mounting, it's best for me to use this picture as reference:

The Styrofoam piece pulls away without any issue and behind it is the metal plate for the bumper. You will see a lot of small circular welds in there. We simply drilled through a couple of the welds and bolted the super tones to the bumper. It meant that you could see them through the grill and it gave them a solid surface to mount to without having to get any extra pieces. (the Supertones that I got literally just came with the two horns in a box with a relay). I've seen other DIY's where people have seemingly mounted them with an L bracket, but I wanted to go this route with it and it was pretty simple once we drilled the holes..

I would definitely be interested in finding out. I still have to return my RMA'd unit, but I'm trying to hang on to see if I can get one of them working. Did you have to connect the device through Bluetooth prior to opening the App? I know they say you don't have to, but I've been trying everything without any luck
