Popping / misfire when changing 2nd - 3rd

Hi guys....been experiencing a a popping / misfire when changing from 2nd to 3rd at low rpms (3000rpm). This usually happens when car has been standing overnight / for a few hours. I have 17000km, and its a 2013 model....i know there have been some software issues for 2012 models.....just would like to know if you have experienced the same thing?

Where is the popping coming from? If you start the car when cold do you hear a popping sound? No engine light?

What mods do you have? 17000km is relatively low- I've heard of other cars quite happily breaking 100k without major issues. I have 57k+ and no engine hassles.

The software hasn't changed from the 2012 model's upgrade I do believe.

That sounds a bit suspect.

Possible DI seal failure or coil pack failure

Is the popping from engine bay (intake) or exhaust

Occasionally you can get popping sound on startup in cold weather that seems normal especially on E85 fuel :-)

use an obd tool to check for engine codes not all codes will light up the CEL light on dash.

If its stock and under warantee take it to dealer.

Check your ECU software revision you should be on ZA1Ja01G manual (Za1Ja01I auto) if its earlier rev like 700G/900G/A00G then that firmware did not have transient ignition retard enabled and coupled with your crappy fuel and hard driving ie shifting at redline can cause DI seal failure due knock

Hi jarnoh,

You are welcome to bring the car past my place and I'll hook the laptop up + go for a drive and check the car out for you.
