Driver side bolsters
Hey Limited and Premium owners. How are your driver side bolsters doing since you've owned it?
Mine is a 14' with 9k miles. I daily drive it and i have some very slight wrinkles on my driver side bolsters. This is of course in comparison with the passenger side which looks mint by comparison. I do caution myself when i get out and in. i have a method which i try not to touch the outside of the side bolster when i get in/out |

There is a whole thread on that in here someplace (I really do pity those that are trying to find something even using Google)
From the manual: CAUTION ■When getting in and out the vehicle Do not rub your back against the side support pad of backrest. Otherwise surface of the side support pad is damaged early. You can move the seat backward to prevent the contact

If you have the leather inserts it might be worth looing at some cleaning and care products to help with the wear. I haven't owned mine long enough to start seeing any wear, but I've had my share of leather seats and they have worn parts out on their bolsters. Over the years I've just come to accept it and not let it get to me.
Its a little like how people stress over their new car / baby it and finally, after a few scrapes and scratches, they let it go and get over it. Not worth stressing to much over for me, but I totally understand wanting to care after every little bit of ware or damage.

Barely 5'1"? How do you see over the steering wheel? (I'm kidding of course.) I had something similar on an old car. The way the bolster was you naturally put your shoulder against it while getting out and over time it wore out and started looking a bit crap. I sometimes wonder what these engineers were thinking when they designed things like this. |

My car came with a rip in the leather of the driver side bolster. I had the dealer replace the seat cover and suprisinly enough that's all it is. A seat cover.
I watched him unhook it all, wiggle it off, and then installed the new cover. Pretty straight forward. With all that said, in the far future if the bolster crumbles and it bugs me. I'll probably just have a upholstery shop pull off the cover and make a new bolster.

I've gone through two drivers seats in 20k miles
. I've given up on adjusting the seat, too much work for a piece of leather

My dyslexia just kicked in, and I could have sworn the title of this thread said, "Drivers side lobsters."

Mine are holding up fine with 36k on the car but my driver side has developed an annoying ass squeak when pressure is applied to it. The outer bolster on the top portion of the seat. Damn back is too big I guess lol
