Meh, it probably gets way more than it needs anyway. More does not always mean better. If the designers felt it needed more flow they would have made those fake vents real.
Now if I was running an inter cooler or some other add on it may be a concern but on stock it is no biggy.

hmmmmm........I drove a 2006 Miata, with the front plate mounted in the center of the grill, for 88,000 miles, throughout the Western US and Canada, over a period of 8 years ...... highest air temperature was 113 degrees F ...... and never had a overheating problem ......

That's cause that's where it's designed to be Earlier Miatas had a license plate mount that was made to stick up above the grill. A minor tap would force the screws through the front bumper, so people would flip the mount. They'll overheat if that's done though...
