Lightbulb Dealers wrongly mounted your front plate, blocking airflow

Dealers probably drilled in the plastic bumper and mounted your plate as follows:

This is also the case with many other gt86 in town:

However dealers likely chose to attach the mount using the upper two holes instead of the bottom two holes.

Do your radiator and car a favor by shift up your plate mount and screw in the bottom holes instead the upper holes. IMO car will get at least 15% more air flow. It's suppose to be the bottom two holes anyways...

The curvature also fits perfectly!!

Summer's here, why not keep things cooler under the hood?

P.S License plate blockage may also affect performance see VW dyno test

Overheating wont be an issue. It's just a good practice to remove any unnecessary heat

I mounted my front plate to a box in my closet. Airflow is great.

Do you really believe that having a plate mounted there causes a cooling issue?

Mine is installed properly. I've always wondered why there was a stupidly designed plate bracket. Regardless of real functional impact, and yes, oil/inter cooler right behind it would be less efficient.

Makes sense now because professional dealer installation.

Happens on Miatas, why not other cars?

Dealers around here don't install the plate unless you tell them to (thankfully)
