I wouldn't say it makes me feel like a celebrity but it does give me a shot in the arm I've never had from any other car I've owned.

Have to say that the car gets zero attention from the general public. Car shapes in general are pretty generic nowadays since they are wind tunnel and legislation constrained.
Unless you are tuned into this whole FRS/BRZ fad thing, to the average passerby the car does not stand out from say a Honda civic or Mustang. |

I feel like the toyobaru will never reach Mustang/Civic status simply because it is not a car for the masses nor has it been around for 20 years.
Give it some time, the celebrity status will wear off but I still hope I don't see one every time i'm out driving (more likely in CA where everyone has summer cars year round).

even a car as "common" as the civic si i don't see a TON of. i'll notice them every now and then, but it's not like you see them all over. i think this one will be even rarer than those. by far the mustang is what i see the most of.

I would have bought a Mustang V6 if my brother didn't already have one. The thing is huge and handles like a boat compared to my FR-S.

I think I've seen about 4 or 5 frs/brz's since I bought mine. They aren't very common. I feel like most people would rather buy for example a Hyundai Genesis Coupe because it has more power and is within the same price range. Not many people understand this car.

I wouldn't say celebrity. At least where I live. But the car when it 1st came out was unique and very sleek looking. It garnered alot of admiring glances. Not so much now.

When a car is designed in such a way that it is rolling artwork, it will always get the attention of those who appreciate beauty. I say this owning a 2010 Camaro, and since day one (2009) it has received similar fanfare. To this day, I still get people pulling up to me at gas stations and asking about it, or kids on skateboards riding by shouting "nice car!", all while grinning from ear-to-ear. On top of that, I live in a city where Maseratis, Ferraris, and Lamborghinis are parked on the street everywhere, yet the Camaro still receives plenty of attention. The 5th Gen was designed by a true artist and although it may become dated, it will always be a work of art. We'll see if the 6th Gen gets the same attention. I see the twins in the same way, just they are a much more rare piece of artwork. (btw, I walked past a Maserati Granturismo the other day, and it has similar lines to the FRS/BRZ... a modern classic) |

Holy necro thread reviver!
But in Socal, no, I don't get any special attention, not even from other 86 drivers. I feel special driving it though. |

I've found that I have to keep a chamois rag and window cleaner in my car at all times to clean off the vagina juice that chicks squirt on it from instantaneous cumming when they see my car.
