2000$ dollar front lip?

Have always been interested in a trd a front lip for my car. Went in for my 15k maintenance and tire rotation at the dealer today and decided to see what they would quote me for one. I had to jump through some hoops but i eventually got them to find me a price using a vin they had on hand for the recent release series.

Bare in mind, I just wanted to buy the front lip not the whole kit, but they quoted me 2000 dollars for kit and hardware.

Is it just because of the vin?

and whats the best place to buy a trd front lip from? (you know an authentic not 2000$ one)

anyone else have similar story?

That price better include a gallon-sized jug of lube, because they're bending you over.

You can buy the whole TRD kit for that price... Nigel-JDM is a good source... @genesis86 also has some pieces every now and then that he finds in excellent condition.

Honestly the parts manager didnt know what to tell me either, he was kind of shocked. He said "might aswell just buy a rocket bunny kit, thats why you bought the car anyway right?"

It was pretty funny honestly, he also advised me to just find one online, the dealership is alright. i might try and ask them for the short shifter kit/shift knob quotes.

Thanks for the input though guys, if i have time this next week ill try and swing by and grab a picture of it.

they didn't mistakenly pull up the RS 1.0 lip did they. That had small enough run it might be stupid high to simply keep it off non-RS cars...

That's exactly what they did because they had to use a vin for the release series...

The TRD RS1.0 parts have already been posted previously:
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=76749

And in case the image ever gets taken down, here it is in text:

PZ322-18002 - Rear Lower Spoiler - $2406.85 MSRP
PZ330-18002 - Left Side Skirt - $1511.49 MSRP
PZ330-18003 - Right Side Skirt - $1511.49 MSRP
PZ323-18005 - Left? Fender Garnish - $505.80 MSRP
PZ323-18006 - Right? Fender Garnish - $505.80 MSRP
PZ321-18002 - Front Lower Spoiler - $1958.68 MSRP
PZ314-18004 - TRD Steering Wheel - $2831.60 MSRP
PTR03-18150 - TRD Quad Tip Catback - $1000.59 MSRP

The authentic TRD japan pieces are much cheaper, or wait for the RS replicas to start rolling in...
