Would not want to pay to store the car, dont want to put it on the curb, and would not want to keep my vette outside all the time.
Yea that's a "problem" in my family as well. MomHawk's convertible takes up slot one in the two car garage. The FR-S squeezes into slot two. We also have a Suburban (family car), a '04 Honda Accord that is usually "away at college" and a '98 Volvo C70 that my high school son drives. When everyone is home it's quite a pain because our garage opens in the back of the house with a large turn-around pad. We can park the three non-garaged cars on the pad and squeeze in and out of the garage in a 15 point turn.

I think it may be a little high risk. Sure its no speed demon but it is a sports car.
I think it depends on the kid. I wouldn't have an issue with two of my three sons driving a 5 or 6 year old FR-S. My youngest one actually took his driving test in mine (probably the first person to do so in Georgia, maybe the US since it was within 3 months of me getting it in 2012) because it was either that or the Suburban at the time. I would (and do) let either of them drive it solo now if they wanted but they are both leery of "messing up" Dad's car.

The middle one, well lets just say he's been driving for 6 years and I still barely trust him to pay enough attention to drive the Accord he has. Not because he is a racer, but because he's a good candidate for an autonomous car.

Between the 3 sons though, we've had 1 speeding ticket and 1 accident that was their fault, so they aren't your stereotypical teenage kids. Even the accident was a parking lot incident where he turned too sharp leaving a spot and hit a parked car. I think a lot of that has to do with them having to buy their own cars, and knowing they would be responsible for any tickets and any deductibles/increases in insurance if there is a claim.

The shuffle is fun. 4 cars for a single garage and a driveway that fits 3 cars. It wouldn't be so bad if I didn't still live with mommy and daddy (long story, involves me having a job where I work on the road for 25 days and I'm only home for 3 or 4 days a month). But it's not too bad when you get it all figured out

I think these actually are a great car for a new driver in many ways. If they learn to drive these properly then they can drive just about anything. Be even better if there was a way to disable the nanny shut offs but if they really are bright at all they would just find a work around for that anyway.
From my experience a teenager (and a lot of older people) can make any car hazardous if they really want to why not start them out with something that teaches actual driving skills?

Mine feels loose. Not sure if it's squeaky or not though.

My first FRS had this, I think there is a clip on the bottom that can be replaced.
