Why did you buy it in the first place?
Are you willing to take a 3-4-5k loss or trade for an older model or a frs?
Do you really love the automatic? It doesn't seem so.
Just change the final drive and you will have shorter gears while still having a 6th gear longer than the manual and have better mpg. Some auto owners who have done the swap say it's the best of both worlds.
So why did you buy it in the first place?

Yeah, MT is really fun. You could probably trade yours for a new 2014 BRZ with a manual transmission, if you can find one that is.

You made your bed, sleep in it.

In all seriousness you should make peace with it unless you're prepared to make a very poor financial decision. But that's your decision, nobody on the internet can/should decide for you.

I wanted an automatic first because of my medical conditions but I went with an Aozora. Now my left knee is messed up more than ever but it's more fun to drive.

For me the only difference with a manual and an auto, well apart from the involving action of actually changing the gear, Is I cant hoon the car like I do with my MR2, other than that its great. The Auto is one of the best iv ever driven this side of a DSG

Noob question, what is final drive and why would you change it?

I almost got the automatic brz back in 2013, but due to x i was not able to finance it. I finally got a brz this year in manual and its the best decision ive made.
