Not really. Your chance of getting pulled over for dark tint is worse. Lol

Not around here. The cops recognize that super dark windows are necessary for life in the desert, so they don't mess with you over tint. Mine are 20% all around, and I've actually been thinking of getting them darker because they don't block enough light as it is.

My windows are tinted which is illegal in NJ but when I roll around in town there usually down so its more of a double edged sword. When they run my plates and see my perfect record they usually back off if they do pull me over I usually get a warning for tint.

I got pulled over in rural Oregon about six months back. I was obviously speeding and deserved a ticket... Being brown and from Cali where Moore's law always applies when it comes to traffic stops, I had my hands firmly on the wheel, palms open, and eyes straight ahead. When the officer comes up to my window and sees how I'm sitting he immediately asks if I have a firearm in the car. I tell him that I don't, and reach veeeeerrryyy slowly for my registration. I can see his initial tension quickly subside as he realizes that my demeanor could only be a result of all those bad encounters... Musta hit good guy cop right in the feels because I could tell he felt bad and let me off with a warning. So from now on that's going to be my go-to strategy.

^ this.
I have been pulled over once years ago.
I showed him how petrified I was, with both arms on the wheel with palms open,
looking straight ahead lol (16 years old at the time)
And the officer was very pleasant to deal with. let me off with a warning
BUT I live in Canada.. so..

Haha, I suppose that would work too.

Mine is not a look of fear so much as, "I'm doing everything to show that I have no desire to get shot/tazed/maced today."

Up until the last 20 years or so it was always the "polite" thing in Canada to get out of the car and walk back to meet the cop half way.
Try that now (especially in some States) and get back to us with how well it worked for you.

I got pulled over at a speed trap several years ago and will never forget the exchange:
Cop - "Excuse me sir sorry to wave you over but do you know how fast you were going"

Me - "I was doing about 90 (80Kph limit) but so was the rest of the traffic so I was just keeping up"

Cop - "Yes sir 90 is pretty much standard along here and normally I wouldn't give you a second glance but we have had some problems so we are cracking down"

Me - "OK no problem I will keep it at 85 from now on"

Cop - "Well I would appreciate that. Do you have any tickets or charges?"

Me - "Nothing ever"

Cop - "Well we will just chat here for a couple of seconds more since my boss is watching"

Me - "What shall we chat about?"

Cop - "I don't know just nod your head and look remorseful"

Me - "Oh I can do that"

Cop (stands up from car and says loudly) - "Thank you for your patience sir just remember slow it down a little"

I drive away thinking "What the hell just happened?"
