Agreed. They are definitely fun..... but so are many other cars including many light Japanese RWD sports cars, such as the Miata, 240sx, RX7, S2000, and on and on and on. :P

No need to argue on the speed point, it's pretty easy to compare using the same source:
2011 Challenger V6 0-60: 6.4 s 0-100: 17.1 s 1/4 mile: 14.9 @ 94 mph 2013 FR-S 0-60: 6.4 s 0-100: 16.6 s 1/4 mile: 14.9 @ 95 mph EDIT: Also found a test on the 2015 Challenger: 2015 Challenger V6 0-60: 6.2 s 0-100: 15.5 s 1/4 mile: 14.7 @ 97 mph Sources: http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...v6-test-review http://media.caranddriver.com/files/...fr-s-specs.pdf http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...ed-test-review

To base your opinion about Dodge reliability on a hand me down vehicle that is 14 years old with many miles (I'm guessing > 100k) is not wise. Who knows what it's been through. Have had and know of many that are as reliable today as they were brand new. Currently own my second Dakota. I am 6'1 and have travelled with cousins, just over 5'0, whom were very comfortable on the passenger side (front and rear). The only complaint was about vision from the back seat, no windows to speak of. Given your thoughts and situation, I suggest finding that right type of "party barge" for your needs. I don't really think that either of your choices will be particularly satisfying to you. Yes, both are relatively fun to drive, considering what they are. But I don't think that either is suitable for your needs at this time in your life.

A V6 Challenger...is ALMOST as bad as the driest, dullest, vanilla, mundane, boring, bland, lifeless, frilless, soulless, miserable heap of rolling metal the planet has ever encountered. A Toyota Camry. The V6 Challenger is a small notch above it. The RT is slightly above the hopeless 6 and the srt is barely tolerable.

Loved the looks. Hated the test drive (with a passion and I really wanted to like it).

The 4 cylinder one isn't nearly as good, but it's still far from "life sucking." What to know what qualifies for that? Dodge Neon, Dodge Caliber, Dodge Avenger, Chevy HHR... Frankly I had more fun in a 3 cylinder 1.0 Geo Metro than any of those cars. |

It only has about 70k miles and it was bought new by my parents. I'm not bashing on dodge, I like challengers. But the reliability issues were small things breaking, for example, window motors, oil leaks, belts...just random easy fix things I mostly did myself. It was just annoying, you know? It was a good car, just got sick of driving it everywhere and picking up girls in it lol. Loooove the frs |
