I personally dislike having the number plate on the side. I like the symmetry of it being in the middle

symmetry is the best. Except if the number plate was in front of an intercooler.

All aust 86's will be drilled already. I will be surprised if anyone can get their car without the drill holes anyway.

Dealer has confirmed that there is a number plate bracket on the front of the car!?!?! :S I asked can I have it without that!?!?! He said it's standard and attached during build process :S

i thought it would of been done here by either the dealer or patrick auto care?
I can't recall if it was done by the dealer or PAC when I got my golf R but you could of advise the dealer/salesman not to install the bracket that makes 2 oversized holes out of the bumper

it looks like the plate holder is same as the one for Japanese market so i'd think they were fitted on the production line.

Toyotas for the Japanese market have the holes drilled/plate holder installed at the factory, while for other markets the bracket is installed at the dealer. I've noticed this when ordering Japanese-market bumpers for people and they come pre-drilled versus USA/Canada market bumpers that do not come drilled.

Sounds like Australia-destination cars may be getting it done at the factory.
