No issues yet with the batteries. However tomorrow in going over the grapevine (big long mountain pass) so it will be a great test.

Thanks to @Shiv@Openflash for the fun day. (Slingshot drives and r8 drives were given.)

That's really great info! I look forward to hear more about it and it's setting capabilities!

YES. If the procede does all it's supposed to do, and makes this a more linear increase in power, then I am sold beyond sold. Perfect.

BIG props to Sojhinn for taking what will be a 800mile round trip just to help us with developing the Procede for the GT86 ESC. The results where in-line with what we saw with the MX5 which is, to say, fantastic. It really does make the engine feel like a much larger (2.6L) naturally aspirated engine. No surge, lag or throttle nonlinearities. I'm excited to hear what you guys thinks when you test it

Hey quick question @Shiv@Openflash

I remember you mentioned there wasn't any gain with the Crawford BPB, but that you'd like to take another crack at them later to see if you could get anything out of them + the ESC. Did you? Or is the verdict still a "no" for the combo.
Just wondering because if "no"..

Anyone want my BPB? lol

Thumbs up Phantom ESC on PROcede - Full Time Electronic F.I.

Ok so I'll just get this out of the way first. Full time F.I. control has come to the Phantom ESC. @Shiv@Openflash 's PROcede controller for @Robftss Phantom ESC kit is here. Seen it, drove it, loved it.

To those who haven't read the posts above and back, the new controller takes the place of the throttle pedal switch. The controller has full PID control from multiple input criteria. The ESC now gives boost based on what I'm assuming are all possible throttle positions.

@Sojhinn, still on his way home from his 800+ mile round trip to install with Shiv stopped to give us a demo. He, @WRB5titch and his lovely GF with a toothache and I enjoyed lunch at Ramen Yamadaya in Costa Mesa. We both drove Sojhinn's newly upgraded car (why he let us do this I have no idea haha). Quite an eye opener.

So what's it feel like? Smooth. Incredibly smooth. Nearly imperceptible, as in you'd never know there was a power adder under the hood unless you had driven a stock 86. As noted, it feels like a bigger engine, 2.6L since Sojhinn was still on CA91 pump gas for his road trip. I have no doubt that on e85 this will feel like a 3.0L with good mid-range torque.

So what's the difference between the PROcede version and the current Partial Throttle Switch? From today's short demo, I'd say that the current PWS is VERY good. @Robftss and @fenton have done a terrific job of finding the best engagement points and power boost amounts at those points to make the car feel fun and flexible. It does everything a person needs on the street. Moving to the PROcede controller I'd recommend mostly for people that want an even more refined feel and who spend a lot of time driving low to mid throttle. Also for those who let other people drive their cars a lot as there is zero learning curve to drive it.

Price? I can't comment on that because Shiv hasn't released the cost of the upgrade. I'm hoping it comes in at a price where as many people can reach them as possible. The PROcede is a great halo for the kind of skill at doing new innovative things OpenFlash/Vishnu have.

When? Only Shiv can say, but from what I understand VERY soon.

How hard to install? Sojhinn noted a dead simple install process and short time. This goes right along with the ESC way to power.

I can't believe how fast ESC's are developing right in front of our eyes. Shiv and Rob are working beautifully together.

Lastly, just wanted to say give a sorry shout out to @Shutter but this is why we couldn't join you at today's Modbargains/Mod Auto watch party and meet. It was probably hella fun.

Obligatorily over processed cel phone pics.

Full throttle Electric Supercharger Build Thread

Ok literally just got home.

First off thank you to @DAEMANO and @WRB5titch for the awesome lunch. It was great seeing you guys.

Also sorry @Shutter if it wasn't for the horrendous LA traffic I would of stopped by the shop today.

I just want to chime in on a few things that daemano touched on.

After driving 48 hours with the procede controller I do not think I could go back to the partial throttle switch. (And the partial throttle switch is really good too.)

Why do you ask?

Yesterday I took a mountain pass near Watsonville, ca (route 152 I believe) from the bottom of the hill to the crest I drove and activated the esc many times in the middle of curves. The traction control system never activated a single time.

I do not think this would of been possible with the old switch.

Feel:

It feels like the esc isn't there. I know this sounds bad but it isn't. The car feels like a larger engine. And this in my opinion is amazing.

Also like daemano stated I spend most of my time in the low and mid range of the rpm band. And the procede controller really fills this niche really well.

Also I think this system will really kick ass in an autox.

Batteries:

Not a single damn issue the whole way down. The grape vine was my *itch and the batteries held up like champs.

Here's what's interesting. Whenever I activated boost the system would stop after a few seconds since I achieved the speed I needed. I didn't realize how often the system wouldn't be under boost.

Install:

I plan on making a video (I know how much guys love hearing my voice) and also the written instructions for the install.

Shiv and I believe the install will take about 20-30 mins. The hardest part being removing the connections for the ecu to tap.

All in all there are three wires to tap and 1 connection to the male throttle switch connection.

Bad news:

The only issue this has is very small one. When you first start the car you must NOT touch the the accelerator pedal as this is during the initialization of the esc controller and it can make things go a wee bit hay wire.

What this means is that you have to wait 10 seconds before moving the car.

I'll be happy to answer any questions anyone may have. Also daemano and wrb5titch both got a decent feel of the system as well, so they can chime in too.
