Lightbulb Cosmetic Non-projector Headlamps? & Opinion on Winjet, others

Searched and I've seen quite a few custom headlights on here, it's basically the same thing over and over: winjet black, wingjet other color., Oem painted, etc.

Can Non-Projector headlights be done?
for illumination of more of the lens instead of one area (like the projectors) and having enough projection to be safe. And not: the beady eye projector look or the raised mean eyebrow look of the winjet headlights?

less focuzed less ford-like), just jk.

I don't know, not exactly Halo Jen. This could be a first and I'm just surprised it hasn't been done.
Hyundai now has winjet-like brow headlights usdm, it's fugly don't you think?. And there is a trend toward christmas lights, ?

proper projectors are way better than reflectors in terms of light output and visibility. I don't know what projectors the winjet uses, but the BRZ ones are top notch. I don't know why you want to step down to worse output and visibility lol. not to mention the money that would needed to be spent on a custom reflector housing and fitment would probably be able to buy you a good projector setup. I just don't see how it will work out unless you'll be using the car as a show car and plan on doing some next gen light trickery with the reflectors

you got a point, but I wouldn't want to step down to worse output/visibility. I still think it can be done with the same amount of projection. I guess I still live in the 90's and like the old Supra look.

If we have projectors, why do we need the rest of the headlight (besides drl etc.)? One section of the headlight is lit up.

So you would rather just have a projector by itself ?

you still have a turn signal in the headlight housing. that's about it. I would also imagine that the car would look weird with only a circle projector headlight protruding from the front instead of the entire housing.

BTW, to get the same amount of light has an HID/halogen projector will be near impossible for reflectors. countless hours will need to go in researching and testing each individual angle of the reflective angles in the housing, and there's countless numbers of reflective angles in the housing. I doubt anyone would be able to create a reflector that is on par, or better than a projector. keep in mind that the light is reflecting off of the housing in reflectors and scattering out to light up the road. in projectors, the light is being projected onto the road through an optic that controls the light output. projecting is much more efficient than reflecting. this is just all my basic understanding though, probably a lot more goes into it.

not really. reflector housings dont focus the light as sharply as a projector lens does and that's because reflector housings dont have a projector lens... otherwise if it did, then it just becomes a giant projector housing which then defeats the whole purpose of wanting a reflector housing...

fair enough

for design. otherwise, you end up with headlights like the 94-00 integra and other similar designed cars.

Look, I have been driving cars for 37 years. I still have a Wrangler as one of my cars. You know - I can pick up a set of sealed halogen replacement headlights at some convenience stores and most truck stops for less than $20.

This is why I love the Wrangler - I have a 2006 - the last year of the straight 6. I can drop a tool under the hood and it will hit the ground.

Anyway - my point is - drive with whatever light you want. I have never crashed a vehicle because of the headlights. If anything - many of the new lighting systems are distracting. The main point is how they function - not how they look. I get aesthetics - just don't sacrifice function for form and don't get too picky - it's not like you are going to just crash a vehicle if it doesn't output max power because guess what? You tend to slow down based on visibility. The goal is for all of us to share the road and get from A-B safely.
