Best Oil for hot climate...

I know this was probably asked on another topic, but my case its a little bit different. I live in Argentina, this is the first Turbo GT86 down here. Where i live its hot... almost all year. Summer we get temps up to 110F and constant 100F for almost 4 months. Winter is a breeze, no less than 50F on a quite cold day.

I do travel with the car to colder regions for track days or road trips, but maybe a couple of times a year.

Also, this car will be seing a lot of track action.

99% decided on using Motul 300 and changing oil every 3-4 track events or 5-7k km. Question is, 0w30?10w40? too many options... would like some advice =)

thanks!

Before oil selection, you should invest in an oil cooler. Once you have that, i would probably start with a 30 weight oil and see what your pressures look like during a track session.

Motul 300v is a good choice, but they don't make it in 0w30.

We have almost the same hot temps weatherwise. I use 30w oil Royal Purple to be exact, and have no complaints. During track sessions, when oil temps reach around 115-120C, oil pressures drop to about 3 bar at redline, which is quite alarming coming from 6bar at normal oil temps. Because of this, I do not want to try 20w oil. I also have an oil cooler.

His data below, you want to stay out of the low 40psi range at high rpm.

You can monitor oil temps with stock sensor with torque or obd device, but for pressure you will need to install aftermarket sensor.

@steve99 thanks for the video, very good info. Probably going for a 10w40 since its going to get a little bit colder in the next months. But in the summer, ill might consider 15w50 or something like that.

I think Eneos Sustina is generally the best, but not sure about specifically hot climates.
