1) Water - Every human needs it to survive, and it's marked up like 2,000%
2) Minibar items - Two shot bottle for $15? PHUCK that noise!

I disagree. No, Yale and Harvard are not affordable.

Anyone willing to work hard can put themselves through a great state school though. You just can't drive a $25,000 sports car while doing it.

I've done it, my kids are doing it. Zero student loans and no "super rich" in sight.

IMHO, from observation over about the last 12 years the majority of "college loans" are spent on either 1) going to the wrong school or 2) life style.

The problem is, you've got to be willing to sacrifice to do it.

Just my opinion, and it differs from everyone else's I'm sure so I'll accept that you have a right to your opinion, even if its wrong, if you'll do the same!

I can get through school and still be relatively okay afterwards, but im kind of being more specifically the wreck called financial aid. Either you make too much and still cant afford school (my girlfriend's parents 'make' too much, but they own their own business, which isnt doing well) So she has to pay for it herself. She now has alot of loans.

I knew going into college id have to owe money afterwards, i just hope its not going to live with me for the rest of my life. FAFSA and the way loans are allowcated from it feels one dimentional.

Im also complaining about goverment funding for colleges, cutting funds seeming that colleges have enough money to keep their programs open, yet they cant thus research suffers and so does learning of bright young minds.

This is why im also going to start college funds as soon as i get married and my future wife gets pregnant. The best thing my dad did was set up a GET fund for me and my sister when we were born. That is probably the smartest thing he has ever done.

Entertainment in general is expensive. Why is it that I can go see a movie in Thunder Bay (at a Cineplex) for around 12 bucks (with popcorn), but in Oshawa it will cost almost 20.
Cell phones are another rip off. In Canada there's only 3 or so major providers. Was talking to my cousins in The Netherlands, what I pay in 3 months, they pay in a year for unlimited everything. Don't you just love monopolies ?
