Does it have replay value? I guess if you like playing the same thing over, but this time using the sawblade instead of the threaded cane.
You are saying the best exclusive current gen game on PS4 (or probably any console, really) should be free because it isn't your typical only-the-multiplayer-is-interesting COD or Battlefield clone, and you are calling me ignorant?

It has no more or less replay value than any other primarily-single-player game..... and it's much longer than most.

I know you are kidding (or at least half kidding) but...

I think that replayability rarely applies. I'll give you a personal example. Movies and video games.

For me, I'm a big gamer, always have been but almost NEVER play a campaign based video game more than once. However, I do EVERYTHING in the game. So, if I spend 200 hours playing Skyrim through once, but never play it again, shouldn't I still have paid for the experience?

Movies are the same way. It is very rare I watch a movie twice, and when I do it is usually separated by years, if not decades. So to me, movies have no replay value. Yet, if I have a movie in my possession I should pay for it, and the first time I watch it I should pay for it, either by renting it, going to the theatre, or watching it where the commercials pay for it, even if I skip the commercials.

In terms of music, its the same thing. If I want to have in my personal possession a copy of a piece of music that I COULD play anytime I want, then I should l pay for it, even if I think it is the worse use of musical notes ever produced after hearing it the first time. I should have known that a Miley Cirus/Yoko Ono duet wasn't going to be my cup of tea before I bought it.

Now, if I want to preview it before I buy it then I need to find it on a radio station (does anyone besides me still do that) or IHeartRadio or Amazon Music or whatever first, then make a decision to buy. It's like test driving a car.

Yup. Who cares about replay value if it's not a competitive multiplayer game? It's about the experience. I'm the same way. I don't replay single player games even if they have New Game+ modes/alternate endings/etc.... what adult has time to dive in that deep after they've already experienced the core of the game? I have like 20 games on my Steam account I haven't even started and probably will never finish...

You sir need to take a step back.

If you noticed I said "I think bloodborne should be free :P"

Obviously I do not think bloodborne should be free, and was a tongue in cheek comment.

I do feel bloodborne has 0 replay value though. The game is great fun and I've spent hours on it; but once you beat it, i don't see why you would pick it up again.

this article sums it up pretty well: http://www.forbes.com/sites/insertco...at-bloodborne/

*shrug* A lot of my favorite single player games have 0 replay value. Ico, Shadow of the Colossus, Amnesia: The Dark Descent, the original God of War, the original Bioshock, any Zelda game, Okami (similar to Zelda), The Last of Us, any Metal Gear Solid game (ok, maybe these have a little more replay value due to all the hidden things...)

Having 0 replay value is mutually exclusive from entertainiment.

The people that support the "free for all" mentality probably support the SBD turbokit and knock off wheels.

My unplayed Steam inventory is hopelessly long thanks to their rock bottom sales combined with the occasional pickup on Humble Bundle. The good news is that gives me an excuse NOT to buy the latest and greatest as soon as it comes out so I rarely pay more than $10 for a game.
