Meaning the mark up is like 10000% basically.

Toothpaste is reasonably priced. It's only like $5 for Sensodyne, and it lasts a long time, in a good quality can, transportation of goods, etc.
Damn, Atticus, you start the best threads!

And yeah, why is pho a rip-off?

On the other hand, some people leave college with a degree in something like international studies with 80k+ in debt and no job due to having to have the "college experience." They likely could have advanced further into a career not requiring college while actually working those 4 years than they gained by going to school.
The science degrees are helpful to society because of the fact that they allow the person to take part in development. Degrees that are based on un-necessary parts of society are what make college a big waste of time.

The thing that grinds my gears the most; those who cant afford college but are of the utmost intelligent beings among us, who will never be able to thrive in the environment they are natural in. The next cure to cancer, aids, clean cheap energy, clean water, space travel, time travel, the next great genius is locked away in a brain somewhere. It is arrogant for our country to be so naive to this; it really makes me pissed off. There is no way to further society and rise above the trivial aspects of day to day living, rather focusing our efforts on something that will make an impact, if college is to be paid for.

I would rather pay a bit more for ramen than pho. Although I don't know how to make it, but I hear it's really simple and cheap to make...

Must be the northern version of pho, since that's "simple." I've made the southern version, and while there are shortcuts, truly, there are lots of ingredients. The longer it cooks, the better. I've even started to cook it the night before. So, I'd pay for good pho, even though I can ask my mom to make it for me. But $7-8 is affordable.
