38k and not a single problem. Then again, I've been driving stick before I could legally drive. How have you gone through two transmissions in 30k?

I've had loads of problems but didn't trade in.
I had a motor blow, I had the fuel pump replaced due to crickets, I had condensation in the tail lights, and the throw out bearing failed prematurely. The motor and fuel pump were warranty, the throw out bearing and tail light they wouldn't cover. |

I've noticed strange issues where fully depressing the clutch and attempting to change the gears still results in hitting that "wall" resulting in a loud gringing sound. I've gone to Subaru multiple times and they say nothing is wrong with it.
I had my alternator crap out on me 3000 miles ago, but not much else. I've just hit 59k miles. |

Thats the same thing im woundering. Two transmissions? The first one gave me problems from 3 4 and 5th gear really rough going in and some grinding when i put it into those gears. They said it was infact a tranny and replaced it no questions. Now car really doesnt want to go into gears and when it does the most horrible clunking sound comes especial after i reverse and into neutral. Sounds like the trannys gunna fall out

Look into lemon law, you may be able to get then to buy back your car since it has so many issues.

Started with 17k. At 23k now. It's been to a few drift events to date. I purchased the car last December and it is now April. So 5 months.
So far I have had no mechanical issues, but I am doing maintenance on this thing more often than needed since its meh baby. I have changed the oil three times. Once when I got the car, another just before a drift event, and the third just recently when I hit 22.5k Transmission is a different story. Let me tell you the shifter is a lot smoother than a 2003 Miata, but it still felt a little rough sometimes. I changed the diff and transmission fluid at 22k. It was a little costly, but worth it. (I did not do anything clutch related). The difference was night and day. The fluid that came out of both was fairly black and water-like. It was most definitely in need of changing. I am not entirely sure what your problem might be. It may in fact need some fluid replaced. If you have a new transmission it is highly recommended to change the fluids once it is broken in. I would also note that our transmission is known to be a little rough sometimes. Especially when it is cold. If the ambient temperature is cold, it will likely be rough for the first few miles of driving. I try to help the car along regardless of what the temperature is by starting the car, and waiting for the idle to drop under 1k. I do this to give the car a chance to get closer to its operating temperatures. TL;DR: try changing tranny fluid at the least. Sounds like your transmission has stuff in it you don't want. I used Motul 300 for mine. It was a little pricey, but I would rather do that than have the transmission break later down the line. |

bought my car new in 2013, and it has 52xxx on it now. "Knock on wood" I haven't had any major problems. Not even minor ones really. Kept up on maintenance rigorously. Actually still on the stock brake pads, and only recently bought new tires at 48k.. and I've done my fair share of dumb stuff in it..
