And then Subaru/Toyota will scratch their heads and complain about slow sales. This is what happens when you're stubborn and refuse to listen to the market. Miata will be next to learn this lesson.

Yes I know its a BRZ but it is still news about special versions of our car.

Automobile Magazine: http://www.automobilemag.com/reviews...by-sti-driven/

MotorTrend: http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...s_first_drive/

To sum it up:
The moniker is still being debated for use in America, but in Japan, tS meant a BRZ that received a long list of hardware tweaks that read like standard tuner upgrades, including a cat-back exhaust, carbon-fiber rear spoiler, front chin spoiler, and 18-inch Enkei alloy wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport tires. Brakes were upgraded to larger-diameter rotors and four-piston front and two-piston rear calipers, all by Brembo but branded STI. Also branded STI: a whole bunch of interior upgrades, including aluminum sill plates, a red ignition button, Recaro sport seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a special shift knob.

Read more: http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...#ixzz3WA3ZAIIS

No power upgrades
Estimated cost: $36k base
So basically, nothing I can't do myself.

36k for a modded BRZ, I don't even get to pick the mods, and a bunch of other people will have the exact same thing, and no significant power gains...

Yeah, let me just get out my checkbook.

22-25 city, 30-34 highway, and 25-28 combined is NOT bad gas mileage for a sports car.. it's not even bad gas mileage for a BRZ. Looks spot on if you ask me, I average 25-28.

Who says they aren't listening to the market? A relative handful of "more power" guys does not make up the market. If you look at all the bling covered, gadget filled, high tech, rolling com center, able to launch nuclear strike cars out there right now I think they know exactly what they are doing. We may not like it but they spend millions on market research and a tiny (but very vocal) group is not going to change what their plans are.

I wouldn't say the people that are vocal about this car lacking power is "a relative handful".. more like, unanimous across the board from owners, fans, and critics alike... I have never seen a professional nor an amateur review that didn't make a point of mentioning the lack of power.

Honestly, it's embarrassing when I'm laying into the throttle, the car is screaming down the road, yet I'm just slowly creeping past the station wagon in the next lane. I still love her, but the lack of power gets annoying.

Here's my amateur review and to throw in a dissenting voice:

THE CAR IS NOT UNDERPOWERED.

Saw more then one of them in my life! In fact I am sure that of the 100 or so I have looked at I have ever actually seen a real one.
I went to look at a 70 GTO that sounded interesting one time. Dude said it was all documented original. Got there and bench seat, column shift 3 speed, plastic (not white metal) emblems and the completely wrong engine. His "documented proof" was a hand written note that said something like "Yep it is all real". All it was, was a Tempest with a hood and some trim added.
Not a thing wrong with cloning but don't try to pawn it off as real.

That's not a review that's a statement, it doesn't count!

Far, far from the "unanimous" that keeps getting thrown out but this subject has been done to death so no point debating it again.

Yup nothing wrong with it, just saying there is a difference between having a real tS and having a cloned tS.

Yep and I was agreeing with you! Like I said not a problem but don't try to tell people it is real or expect it to have the same value when you go to sell it.
