However, here's one thing people don't understand with the BRZ/FRS...this car does teach you a set of driving skills that can be used on other platforms. I hope people can spend more time driving this car and really enjoying what the platform has to offer. Like seeing @SubiePig, I hope others will follow his path of just driving the car and enjoying what Toyota/Subaru has to offer. It's a great car in its own category.

To be perfectly honest with the BRZ/FRS, the basic upgrades to the car has made it a blast to drive. There is a lot of stuff you can do to the car, but driving skill is what takes this car to the next level. There is a very distinct reason why we modify the car a certain way and it's simply due to the fact that it accents the positive traits of the car.
@CSG David Thank you for the reply.

Can you specify what you mean by basic upgrades and what they include? I'm learning here, so appreciate the feedback from all.

Brake pads, brake fluid, alignment, and oil cooler are the basic necessities.

Well, I plan on getting rid of my 86 and going back to an S2000 if that tells you anything. Of course, everyone has their own personal preferences so what I like may not be what you like.

For me, the Honda build quality, the engine, the shifter/gearbox and now the "collectability" and of course the "fun factor" of the S2000 are what are drawing me back to it. It's the only car a truly wish I had never gotten rid of.

Someday I may come back to the FR-S/BRZ, but for now I have limited space and am saving up for another "fun" car on top of the S2000 I plan on getting, so it's not in the cards to keep the 86.

I don't daily drive my S2000, but I do try to drive it to work once or twice a week and on the weekends along with track days. I don't see any reason why you couldn't provided 2 seats and limited trunk space is okay. I have a RAM 1500 EcoDiesel that I drive most days as it gets about the same gas mileage as my wanged S2000 and has all the modern niceties like Bluetooth, satellite radio, and navigation.

Should have it back this weekend, actually. Going to be awhile before I get my confidence to go through that section at speed again. I have earned my big off moment badge, once was enough.
I wouldn't call it a struggle. You were going for it in time trials and you had a little bobble. It will happen, you just got unlucky with the results. You going to be at NOLA in late May? It sounds like they are trying to get a bunch of the time trials S2000s together for the event. I will definitely be there. Unsure, whether I will be turbo or not by then.

Yeah, was not in a ideal setup. Old tires, loose setup, new car, new track, feeling to comfortable to quickly. Lesson learned. Just glad everything worked out.

I should be there with a better setup car and more prepared mindset. Need to get the autocrosser/karting background mentality out of my head. Focusing on seat time more than anything the rest of this season before trying to take it to the TTB M3's and Dysen.

Lots of S's would be great to see, as would the turbo! Don't forget brake pads! :p
